chicagoskiguy
I have 1 HC-300 left in my project, and I have a Slingbox (functionality from CytexOne if I recall) that is occasionally used. If I dust off some of my old knowledge - the HC-300 had some sort of IR receiver, where you could aim IR remotes at it, and either "learn" IR commands. The Slingbox used this feature. If 2.10 requires all HC-300's get removed from the project - do any of the newer boxes allow IR input? What is the new official way of handling this? Can the slingbox be used in 2.10? lippavisual
None of the newer C4 product has IR receivers, so unfortunately you're SOL.
lippavisual
What I've done in the past is use an hdmi encoder, typically from camera manufacturers. Then just use the control4 app remotely to change sources, etc. this works with most product that can access the Internet, like pc, phones/tablets. chicagoskiguy
That's too bad I knew the 250/800 left it out, but that had not heard anything about the EA's. Wonder if the same functionality could not be accomplished via IP commands. When that Slingbox driver came out IR was king. Since then IP has picked up steam. @cytexone ? Good idea on the hdmi encoder, I'll have to ponder that one.
