thecodeman Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 ".... are designed to integrate with touchpanel controllers from such companies as Crestron, Control 4, and Netstream. "Interesting...http://www.guidetohometheater.com/mediaservers/vudu_bx100_online_receiver/
RyanE Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Not that interesting. We've had a driver for the Vudu for quite some time (basically as soon as DriverWorks was released in 1.6.0), but since it doesn't play anything but downloaded (or currently streaming) content (i.e. you can't have it play your own media on your own network), I don't find it all that compelling.RyanE
thecodeman Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 Well I thought it was interesting that the article mentioned that it would show up on the touchpanels (thinking movie coverart IE 777es). Just another option out there.
RyanE Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 No, the driver is a transport control (play, stop, pause, navigation buttons, etc.) only.At the time (this may have changed, but I doubt it), we could not get metadata from the unit, and even if we could, we don't have 'purchase' functionality, and most of what you browse on the Vudu is stuff you don't currently 'own', but want to watch.RyanE
CFUG Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Yeah, I was sold a "bill-of-goods" which included this box. All it does is burn-up electricity as I have never activated it. $300 back then but next to free today.
