Dimmer switch button replacement

wagz

Question

Hi folks,

A really easy question. I have two dimmer switches for which the switch buttons have popped out and wont sit properly. The switch hardware connected is fine, just want to replace the buttons. Whats the best way to address this? Do I need to purchase the whole switch again? When I get the new switch is it plug and play or requires programming again. This particular switch is multi-way.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated?

You're missing the top bar, which in and of itself may casue it to sit too lose.

That said, you can get the color change kits through any dealer, just get the existing color and replace, it should include a new top bar.

HOWEVER, check the actual device and the button, because there is a chance the little 'tabs' on the device itself may be damaged, in which case changing the front button/rocker won't help you.
