msgreenf
I am trying to add a wattbox to OvRC and it keeps telling me invalid mac address - i know it's valid, I copied it from the sticker and verified it in the DHCP table of the router. Anything I maybe missing?
SouthernSmarthome
Log into the wattbox by it’s ip. Then copy and paste the Mac from the web interface into the OvrC page. Rinse and repeat for the service tagSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
msgreenf
it's used and I am locked out of the web interface - how do you reset a wattbox? I can't read anywhere how to do that and SnapAV is closed.

I’m not going to post on a public forum this part. However you can get snap to help you if everything is free and clear. Step three add to your account. chopedogg88
If it's a used wattbox then it's most likely registered to another ovrc account and needs to be released by the previous dealer. Loki
You can reset the password by using /password.cgi (ex: http://192.168.1.100/password .cgi ) after the IP address in your browser and using 'admin' as the username and nothing in the password field. JSTRONG
I’m told the only way to release from another dealers OvrC is by buying the OvrC hub from snap. (Which I just bought ) how did you do it without the dealer releasing it ?

JSTRONG
It’s what snap support is saying. Sounds like there is another way.
SouthernSmarthome
It’s what snap support is saying. Sounds like there is another way. Yes I’ve done it several times. Basically you reach out to the other dealer. If the are unresponsive, then you can get snap involved. Bottom line is the gear belongs to the end user not the original dealer, unless there is a lease situation, which is highly unlikely. msgreenf
The hub is how you do it. You scan. Then release everything. Then you can subscribe to it. But snap support released it for me.

If you can use a hub to arbitrarily release anything that would be beyond phucked up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That means you are on the same physical network. That is how it works
JSTRONG
Maybe southern smarthome hasn’t done it in a while but snap won’t do that anymore. Yes, they used to release it, but due to legal issues, they no longer will release it. Unless like I said , he has another method but even factory resetting them won’t release the Mac from ovrc
JSTRONG
Mitch , I just read they did it for you. Wow ok , sounds like it depends on the support tech. On a job where I just installed a new Araknis switch to a huge Araknis install , previous dealer Is gone and snap would not do it because of lawsuits they told me. SouthernSmarthome
Why? That means you are on the same physical network. That is how it works What if the client you take over owes thousands of dollars to the original integrator still? JSTRONG
Yes, here in NJ it means nothing if you owe the integrator. It’s a civil case and you can get an attorney and give him a $10,000 retainer and maybe in 3 years you get your attorney fees paid back and that’s it.
