sofakng
Does anybody know if it's possible to export the controller statistics to an external database? For example, Grafana is really popular and it would be great to use telegraf (or whatever else) to grab the system metrics, store them into an InfluxDB and then view them using Grafana... ILoveControl
Dont have the link but google brought it up first time someone made a driver that pumps out that data to prometheus then you can use grafana to plot it.
ntlord
I would think it is possible. You can get root access to the controller. So I’m assuming you could compile telegraf to run on them. Edit: Seems like the answer above would be way easier than what I suggest.

sofakng
@ILoveControl Thanks, I did see that driver. However, it isn't able to capture CPU or memory statistics. It's used to monitor devices connected to Control4.
ILoveControl
I think its opensource so getting the stats you can use many linux commands then just use the framework he has to pump out the data.
sofakng
Hmmm, I can't find the source for it and the driver is encrypted. I've gone ahead and e-mailed the developer (Harper Reed). If he provides the code and I can update it then I'll also provide the updated driver free to everybody else who might be interested. msgreenf
You can enable snmp traps...then send them anywhere
ILoveControl
The question is why though, I thought about doing it but the controller is pretty rock solid - if you dont @:$;)/& with it

From what I'm reading it has been dropped/removed?

It does not from what I have read. Curious what the use of monitoring the controller would be? Shouldn't need it. You don't monitor the cpu of a Roku... msgreenf
