Do I need to break the 4th pin of a DB-9 Connector to connect a CA-1 with RS232 DMX Engine?

Recommended Posts

I have tested the EA-5 controller with a RS232 DMX Engine. I had to break the 4th pin of DB-9 male connector starting from left, in order for it to work.

However, I have not tested this with a CA-1 controller. As you know, CA-1 has a RJ45 port for serial communication and we can directly purchase a RJ45 to DB9 connector cable from Control4.
In this case, do I need to break the 4th pin of this cable as well?

Thank you.
