sofakng
I'm not too familiar with Zigbee (I've used a lot of Z-Wave) but I know that Control4 uses Zigbee for communication between the remotes and controllers. However, it looks like Philips Hue also uses Zigbee for communication between it's hub/bridge and the lights. Is it possible to have both systems use the same Zigbee network? If I understand correctly, Zigbee is a mesh network so this could help both systems transfer messages, etc?

-defunct-
Control4's zigbee is encrypted with proprietary keys, so not possible. The two will have to stay separate meshes.

Not exactly correct, Control4 uses the standard Zigbee Pro join pre-shared key, but Control4 does require an additional Zigbee Cluster, which 3rd party devices do not support, and also requires a driver for the device be found during the join process, or the device is kicked off of Control4's mesh. Due to these 2 incompatibilities, Control4's Zigbee mesh does not let 'external' 3rd-party devices join.
