ashwinmj
I have 5 Hikvision cameras (1080p) and one Door Bird (720p) integrated into OS 3.2.3. When Security -> Cameras is opened and the app goes to the page with a preview of all cameras, it loads quick on the Android app and T3 screen. However, on the iOS app it takes a long time to show the previews of the Hikvision cameras. Initially, it shows the spinning wheel, then after about a minute it shows a symbol to indicate there's no camera feed from any of the cameras. After a few more minutes, it starts slowly loading the preview of the cameras one by one. At any time if I tap on the preview of a camera whose preview hasn't been loaded yet, the live feed of the camera in the page with only one camera loads quick. So, it doesn't seem to be a problem of C4 not getting the camera feed. The problem is only on the page where all cameras previews are shown at the same time, and only on iOS. I tried changing the Hikvision cameras to 720p, but that didn't make any difference.
eddy.trochez
What driver are you using? In the iOS app, go to settings and tap on "Sync settings". The Camera proxy has been improved a lot in 3.2.3. My feeds load instantly in my iPhone and my T4s. I use Hikvision cameras with the third stream set to 1080p. ashwinmj
Thanks @eddy.trochez. I’ll check the driver and let you know. I’ve tried “sync settings” but it doesn’t help. I’m on 3.2.3 but it’s still the same problem unfortunately. What is the third stream?
ashwinmj
@eddy.trochez we’re using the driver “Hikvision IPC Camera” with device file camera_ip_hik_ipc_ptz.c4z. It’s by Control4. Would you recommend using a different driver instead?
eddy.trochez
That’s not a good driver. Use either the generic camera driver or Chowmain’s Hikvision driver.
ashwinmj
@eddy.trochez thanks. We tried the Chowmain Hikvision driver, but it gave the same problem. We’ll try the generic camera driver. Hope that fixes it

ashwinmj
Wow! That’s super quick! I’ll try the chowmain driver again.

The generic driver will give you the same results. You might be having an issue with settings. Your dealer should look into it for you. ashwinmj
@eddy.trochez I've taken a video similar to what you sent earlier here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dkab9Qii_aAvDCn11eRWF2ui1mVGPCOO/view?usp=drivesdk. The problem with loading of videos is only in the screen where all cameras are shown. If I tap a particular camera to view only one at a time, it loads quick. And this problem is seen only in iOS, not on Android, the T3, or the on screen interface on the TV.
eddy.trochez
That looks like an issue with the snapshot URL. If you are using the Chowmain's driver, there's a bug in that driver where the driver sometimes won't get the correct URL and give you the error you are seeing. Check the snapshot URL in the driver's properties and make sure it has this format: http://192.168.13.127:80/ISAPI/Streaming/channels/103/picture?resolution=640x480 Please note that the "3" in "103" represents the stream number you have setup. If anyone from Chowmain sees this post, you should setup the above URL as the first URL that the driver cycles through since this is the format most Hikvision cameras use. I haven't used a Hikvision camera that doesn't use this format.
ashwinmj
@eddy.trochez my snapshot URL is the exact same format, but the stream number is 1. How do I find the stream number? I looked at all of the camera settings, but couldn't find it. The only relevant thing I find is number of streams - that's set to 1. I don't see anything about the stream number.
