Scott in Texas Posted March 12, 2022 Share Posted March 12, 2022 I repeatedly have problems with the Media Scan (either Scan Now, or scheduled) failing to work. It seems to happen every few months or so. Right now, 3.2.3 edition does not work. After upgrading to 3.2.4 it still does not work. The "Scan Now" button can be pushed, but nothing happens. "Director Idle". Months ago, when it actually worked, the lower display shows the files as it is reading through them. I have about 8000 songs on a NAS. I can connect through all my computers just fine to the NAS. Control 4 has no trouble playing the existing files in the database, that are stored on the NAS, but, I cannot get the scan to read any of my newer music added to the NAS. I tried disconnecting / reconnecting the network share (\\Mycloudex2ultra\nas\Scott_Music) and this does not solve the problem. I also tried using two different computers, no difference, not working... What is wrong with the Composer Home Software media scan function? Why does it die every few months?
