Controlling Tivo Edge - how to address the Back button?

My Tivo Roamio has gone bad, and I have replaced it with a Tivo Edge.  I was able to make the C4 driver work with the Edge by using the IP address, but Tivo has changed the behavior of the back arrow.  That no longer takes you back to the previous screen.  There is now a Back button that does that.  I thought that perhaps the C4 back arrow did the right thing - but it does not.  I don't see any way to map a key to the back button in the HE driver options.

How are people getting around that for the Edge?

The driver and API is exactly the same

But the left arrow no longer takes you back to the previous screen.  Tivo changed the behavior of that in TE4, which the Edge uses.  There is now a special back button.  What button should I use to get back to the previous screen in the Edge (or other TE4 machine)?

Not sure what that means - since it doesn't work for the reason that I said.  Have you gotten an Edge to work with C4?  If not, can someone with a Tivo Edge please let me know how you have gotten it to work?

Yes. I use my edge every day w c4 personally in my house w 8 minis.

And you’re saying that your back arrow works without you needing to do anything special.  Okay, it must be something that I’m doing wrong.

I wanted to provide some follow-up here about what worked for my system, so that if someone else has this issue they have at least one reasonably detailed approach (there may be others).  The driver that I had on my system worked for the Roamio, but did not work for the Edge, since it didn't have an assignable Back command, and none of the keys were hard-coded for Back.  The driver to use is called "TiVo (2.8.1) Roamio/Model 3+", version 6 with a modified date of 5/18/2016.  That version has a Back command that can be assigned to whatever key you want.  It didn't work right out of the box - but did work once I assigned it.

You had the really old driver then?

Unsure.  Once it became clear that I could not solve it myself I got my dealer involved and he figured out what driver to use.

Anyway you could screenshot that?  I don't see it in the driver?  I thought you were talking about the hard "back" key?  I may just be brain dead, but my hard back button on a Neeo does nothing.

This is the key assignment page.  I've assigned the Back command to both the Prev & Back buttons.

In the programming tab, you can program the back button on the remote to fire the TiVo previous button commands. So, it's a workaround and works for 90% of the situations.
