TundraSonic
We like having the door chimes on most of the time but one exception is early in the morning. I often get up about 5a and when I go out the chime wakes my wife. I wanted to add a bit to a button that triggers lights in the morning to also turn the chime off for 2 hours but I'm not seeing a way to do it in the driver. Commands available include; Arm, Disarm, Emergency and Execute Function. The last two are greyed out. Ideally I'd like to turn it off for just the two doors that I use but turning it off completely for 2 hours would work as well. Also, am I correct that if we switch to Alarm.com that we will not have any connection between C4 and the security system? TundraSonic
Wanted to bump this up as my wife is quite unhappy with hearing the chime in the mornings and doesn't understand why "for the tens of thousands of $'s we paid for all of this Control 4 and DSC stuff it can't do something as simple as turn a chime off automatically. Do either of those companies know that this is 2023 and not 1965?" Can't disagree with her. Are DSC and C4 taking a page from the Chamberlain/Liftmaster playbook of we don't want to play nice with any modern technology? Any advice on accomplishing this would be welcomed. SpencerT
You could disable chimes at the panel and set up chimes to be announcements in c4. Then manage it with programming. TundraSonic
South Africa C4 user
I cannot recall whether this is possible or just wishful thinking. If you can control the speaker volume then you can simply set it to zero at certain times of day. I’ll try and remember to look later to see if this can be done via programming. c4toys
some devices have more then one driver, that said as C4 has changed code some older drivers no longer work. I have a ge panel where the older driver (587 module) did have chime functions and the new driver does not (584 module).
