justaquestion
Hi, back in 2012-2015 I used to have a system (HC-300 is I recall correctly). Recently I upgraded (meaning started from scratch) to a new EA-1 controller. Dealer installed it and everything seemed fine. Things seem to work besdies two problems(?): 1. new controller doesn't seem to check in (or at least control4 website reports last check in was in 2017 - old system). see attached screenshot. Also reported os is wrong - my controller has 3.3.0-something 2. 2 of my kids iphone's cant remote connect (both have Iphone XR). 3 other iphones (2 iphone 12 and one iphone 12 mini) connect remotely no problem. but the other two fail to get the data that shows the rooms and stuff. remote access is setup. on the website all accounts seem to be fine and identical. See another screen shot. Dealer is clueless... Any help would be greatly appreciated
msgreenf
Checkin date should be today. So that means the registration isn't fully completed. That explains why remote access isn't working properly. I would try rebooting the controller and see if the check-in time is more current after that
justaquestion
thanks @msgreenf. Is there a way to reboot via software as a normal user or should I just plug the power out? The later has happened about 3 weeks ago so I don't think it will help (but will try it again if there's no soft way). How does this explain the fact that 3 out of 5 phones work? thanks again, Dror
msgreenf
Reboot via plug pull. What I'm thinking is the three of five phones are registered on the local network and that's why they're working versus the others trying to be registered over LTE/ 5g
justaquestion
did the reboot. Status didn't change. still check in is at 2017. BTW the device that shows up under my controller has the right mac (of the new device). Is that something the dealer updated or is it information received when the device connects to the servers? thanks for the help Dror
justaquestion
one more thing (not sure if it makes a difference or not) - my controller is EA3
msgreenf
I would have your dealer contact support. something isn't right wtih your account
Thepritch88
I've seem similar things before, get your dealer to go into account services in composer pro and unregister the controller, then re-register it to your account. He'll also then see if the controller is able to check in or not.
