Additional ringers for Doorbird

JamesPB

Question

I have a Doorbird hard wired to a regular chime on the ground floor.

For elsewhere in the house
a) Is there a cheaper alternative to the €190 Doorbird Chime?
b) what would one of the dealers here charge to install the Chowmain IFTTT driver to make our Amazon Echos spark up?

Two dealers have unsuccessfully tried to make our Heos ceiling speakers play a media file when the bell is pushed, I believe due to the known bug
Instead, the speakers are set to play a radio station for a few seconds. This is unsatisfactory for various reasons.

I spotted this little speaker on the other side of the world for about £69. Is it worth getting it and me trying to use Composer HE to set it up?
We have an Echo in nearly every room so using them would be great. I appreciate there will still be a delay caused going via cloud services.
Any other ideas?

I know it's fixed in 3.3.3

When's that arriving?

I still seem to be on 3.3.0 while 3.3.1 has been released.

Any thoughts on speakers or the costs to set up Chowmain IFTTT and Echos?

Re: 3.3.3 - Its out. Released April sometime I believe.

And IFTTT is not consistently (read: almost neverly) instant. At least for me. Ymmv.

I've had success with voicemonkey and the chowmain tcp driver. I use it to trigger Alexa skill-only devices, and I use it for some alerts. (minus the early on startup-type outages).
