Olichops
So I had Minke Air fans installed outside and the C4 fan controller does not play nice with the DC motors on these fans. It fries the reciever if the fan is started on low speed. Dealer did not pick up on the fact that the Fan controller does not work with DC fans. So replaced a fan a second time and want to control the fan by Bond Bridge. I have it linked up but need to know if I can just configure the fan controller to be all key press to link to bond that will control the fan. I guess I will have to have the fans on constant power bypassing the c4 fan switch as all the keys will act as a keypad. It seems the driver only has speed up/down and toggle. No direct speed of 1-6 like the original remote and the bond remote control. I did download the Bond 6 speed fan driver. Any way to have the C4 fan controller always on but still use the buttons as keypad buttons only?
mstafford388
Yes, you can turn the fan speed controller into a regular keypad that you can program to do whatever you want, you just can't reconfigure the button layout. The bond driver should have discreet speed commands, I've done exactly what you are trying to do in the past. SpencerT
SpencerT
I apologize for the hijack. If I'm understanding, the fan speed controller can essentially become a "fixed layout" keypad and still switch control a load (as opposed to dimming a load) and give you programmable keypad buttons? Like one button to toggle the load and 4 buttons to use as a keypad?
chopedogg88
Yes. Typically if I'm using it to control a smart fan via bond I'll just hard wire nut the power behind the keypad so it's always on.
