parallel desktop and control4

I am having issues with running 1.8.2 and could not get my apple running parallels desktop to see the hc500 to start programing a system. Any ideas?

I am trying to re-install it now but I can't test it until tomorrow.

Can you ping the IP of the hc500 from your Parallels virtual machine? Could be as simple as no connectivity, but if the way Composer sees the hc500 is through Layer 3 network broadcasts ... this could present a problem. The virtual interface in Parallels is usually bridged to the physical interface of your MAC however bridges typically only pass Layer 2 broadcasts (MAC level). Try hard coding the IP of the virtual machine to an IP in the same network as your hc500 and see if that fixes your problem, if not create a virtual interface on the MAC with an IP in the same network of your hc500 and see if you can assign it to your virtual machine as a physical interface.

I guess we need a Mac version of Composer.

Oh, are you running Windoze in a BootCamp partition? If so, boot to Windoze and launch Composer because now it is running natively and should work.

Turn off the shared folders in parallel's preference's panel. I use a mac and have no problems with any version of Composer.

Can you explain how shared folders effects the ability to run Composer in Parallels? Thanks.
