akg4y
lippavisual - Im getting conflicting reports on whether or not I need a component video hum eliminator (http://www.hdtvsupply.com/covihumel.html) or an electrical hum eliminator like the EbTech HumX you suggested. Im pretty sure you have the situation down in terms of my dimmers affecting the problem so do you think a HumX between my surge protector (to which the TV and receiver are connected) will correct the problem even though the component video feed is coming from the basement AV-switch? I guess my question is if the problem is the result of noise on the electrical supply itself, or noise in the component feed because of wires maybe running parallel to electrical wires? lippavisual
Sorry for the late response, been a bit busy.To be quite honest, it's hard to say exactly what it is without seeing it in person. I was just suggesting most of the issues I have come across in my time and what has fixed them.Buy the HumX, try it, if it doesn't solve your issue, then return it.
