danlevine
Use the Sony 777 without the HDMI. Component Video works great. It's the only compatible changer with c4.

dvollmer
Use the Sony 777 without the HDMI. Component Video works great. It's the only compatible changer with c4.OK, well I guess I was sold by my AV contractor that HDMI is what I need, even though he knew I wanted to do Control4 in the future. Unfortunately, they only wired HDMI to my plasmas. Will this adapter work between the 777 and the HDMI cable?http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=3569#buyIf so, how would I configue it so that I could have it going to two plasmas? AS2
HDMI is a little beat right now. But I'm talking only about the format, and the DRM (HDCP) not the wire. As an idea, HDMI is great. And it will most likely be the future (after component but before fiber). I think the gefen piece should work.as2
R_Willis
If your that worried about HDMI, get the Sony 777es and run it into an upconverting receiver. Many of todays a/v receivers take all the inputs (s-video, component, etc) and upconvert them all to the HDMI out connection.Run the HDMI from the receiver to your tv/projector.Just an idea. dvollmer
Bump....this forum is really dead.Again I ask, is the Gefen best (and budget-wise) way to switch from compnent to HDMI? Also, how can I configure to two plasmas?
