! ! ! D-Link IP-cameras in Composer ! ! !

Recommended Posts

Hello. :)

Anyone can tell, are there drivers for the D-Link IP-cameras in Composer (control4 version 2.1.0) today? Or what you must change in the standard driver (Axis or Panasonic) for control D-Link IP-cameras (2121 and 6510), both with MJPEG? It is really necessary!

Why would you ask this in every camera related thread, AND start your own thread?

The answer will not come any quicker.

No drivers exist for D-Link cameras that I'm aware of.

Thank you very much, chicagoskiguy. But your driver does not work with models of my cameras . As I understand idea of driver, there are main fields:

/image/jpeg.cgi</URL

in your driver "camera_ip_http_DLink_DCS-932L" and if I change them my cameras must work well.

Where can I get this fields for my cameras? ? ?

From the camera manufacturer.

Did you try the driver? Did you identify it with the proper IP address of the camera? I don't have those models, so I can test it, but both are fixed cameras, and I would be surprised if it didn't work.

Hello, chicagoskiguy

May you say how did you edit and save your driver file? As I understood you take Axis camera driver and edited it, then saved with a different name, am I right?

When I try to edit it and save with a different name - I can't add my driver into project. Like in this threat http://c4forums.com/viewtopic.php?id=9088

Thant you

SerJ,

I saved the file in the \My Documents\Control4\Drivers file, and then searched for it using the Driver/Manage Drivers menu, and once I found it, clicked the "My Drivers" button if I recall.

Thank you for reply,

I would like to ask you some additional information.

What program did you use for editing driver file? What encode was used for that file?

I tried edit it in standart windows notepad - but it failed.

I would think Notepad should work, but my text editor of choice is http://notepad-plus-plus.org

That driver shows up and can be added to a project, but I don't have that camera. That category field in the driver file doesn't seem to work like it should. On the Manage Drivers screen, your driver shows up at the very bottom with a device type of "Unknown".

I found right URL links for my cameras:

1) D-Link DCS-2121:

/video/mjpg.cgi</URL;

2) D-Link DCS-6510:

/video/mjpg.cgi?profileid=1</URL , where 1 - number of video profile, which is setted to MJPEG-stream in web-interface settings;

and your driver works well. Thank you very much, chicagoskiguy!

I can see it in "Manage Drivers...", but when I press "My Drivers" - it doesn't appears in my driver column. So I can't double click on it for adding into project (

I also can't understand why it works that way, everything seems written O.K.
