ekohn00
Here's an interesting problem I am having.I have our porch light come on when the front or side door to the house is open. Currently the scheduler options are for Nighttime or Daytime. My problem is that I have to do a statement: "If nighttime then turn on porch lights" My problem is that in the morning when the kids go to school, its not really night time, but the lights are still going on.Is there away to adjust NightTime to match sunrise and sunset?thanks. CFUG
Assign a VARIABLE (if you can) to Dawn -15min. Use that VAR as a toggle and assign it as a CONDITIONAL in your door contact program.

neil12011
I use time frames more than day/night. IE, if time is between 7pm and 6am etc.
CFUG
^Sure, you can do too. The point is that the dawn/dusk feature tends to not work well enough if you are trying to save a few penneys on lighting. It's a personal thing, no fault of the system. ekohn00
Just an update For me the easiest way was setting a sunset variable, that was true from sunset to sunrise plus or minus some time period. Then I can easily set lights IF sunset is true.thanks for all the suggestions. ekohn00
I use time frames more than day/night. IE, if time is between 7pm and 6am etc. This would work, but with the dramatic the change of sunrise and sunset throughout the year it would need to constantly be adjusted. ekohn00
^ the dawn/dusk feature tends to not work well enough if you are trying to save a few penneys on lighting. .Not that I'm trying to save pennies. But the sun is up when my son leaves for school or I leave for work. It kinda looks funny in the late morning or early evening when the light come on and they're not needed. More of being a perfectionist vs. cheap.
