  1. Pentair pool control is limited (read: verified to "work") to the i9+3 system. There are some bugs present in the system mostly relating to spa control becoming disabled from recollection. Use any other Pentair system...don't expect any support. Personally I'd stick with Jandy iAquaLink.

  2. If the device is still on embernet, you will need an HC 500/300/200 on 1.8-2.53 for the embernet update to miniapp mode after that you can bring the driver into your current project and go from miniapp to zigbee pro by pressing and holding the bottom button while ID window is open.

It is also my understanding if the 500/300/200 was brought past 2.53 via an update from a director on 2.6+ that even if you restore the controller it will not be able to begin the embernet update. That's well before my time...just what I've been told by senior dudes at corp.

  3. 1k to wire up speakers is no more or less reasonable without knowing the difficulties of the task. Attic work...cost can go up especially if it's hot and humid. Difficulties with getting those wires down to the rack may also be present. My point...without an actual walkthrough nobody can tell for sure from the comfort of our desks.

  4. Are we to assume the system is already up and running and fully functional, other than the C4 system? If so what you have there is the EA-3 bundled with a remote and charging station. The price is spot on for the equipment and seems low if the system is functional otherwise. If the system is not already installed/functional...i wouldn't touch that for anything less than a grand for labor/programming. You have a good deal if that's a binding quote. And yes I feel the EA-3 is the safe bet.

  5. I don't understand why.    If the programming launches Netflix on the Oppo, wouldn't the transport controls be those of the Oppo?  (My remote works just as if I had selected the Oppo device, not the experience button that programmatically launches something on the Oppo)

Because with the Scenario Experience button you aren't operating within the Oppo driver at that point. If you're using android-based navigators or the C4 app as of right now there is no way to page jump (some refer to it as page flip) to the transport controls page of the Oppo. What your wife would basically have is fancy icon that would presumably activate Netflix if programming was correct...but no way to control it. The custom button option works because you are issuing that while within the Oppo controls page.

  6. I know I can use a custom button, but my wife really wants a Netflix (or VUDU) icon she can push.  Could these be done with experience buttons?

Yes, your dealer can create a custom icon within the Watch page, if you're on 2.9, via the Scenario Experience button. Once that is created, programming can be applied to that button.

The issue will be getting to the transport controls once you've activated that source.

  7. I don't find this a stupid idea at all, honestly. Nearly every other "universal remote" has the ability to emit IR codes as well as RF. At the very least this is a good option for just turning on/off a TV that is being controlled via IR since most clients instinctively point it at the display anyway; of course there are scenarios where this won't work and an embedded emitter/232/IP is important...or like the OP stated, as backup when shit fails...and you know it will, just to keep some basic features available to the client.

  8. Brad, refer to KB 1398 for libeay32 support and KB 1225 for general broker error troubleshooting. The first and easiest steps to begin troubleshooting broker issues is to ensure that the date, time and timezone are correct on Director. I prefer to use putty for this. FYI the time on Director should be no more than 2-3 mins offset from the system time on your PC.
