  1. Hello,

I know that the Xbox driver hasn't been updated in a long time.  @msgreenf produced the last update that I saw.  I have two Xbox X systems and just recently, 1 month ago, when you select the Xbox to Watch it Powers On then immediately Powers Off.  I'm not sure if it detects a Power Toggle when the driver starts but it always powers back off.  So, you have to use the game controller X button to power it back on.  I tried to look at the driver to see if anything extra (a second power toggle or power on) was being sent but I'm not that familiar with the DriverEditor 3.0.1.  Is anyone else using the Xbox driver?  If so,have you started seeing the same thing with an Xbox X?  I wish Microsoft would keep up with the drivers.  I just want to turn the system on with Control4.  I really don't use the C4 Remote after that.  Any help would be appreciated.

  2. msgreenf, the zwave chip in the module and the "optional" part number are the same so they should be the same chip.   Am I missing something or is there a different chip in the Core CA-10?  Optional zwave module part number to order from the CA-1 spec sheet:

    Z-Wave Integrated expansion slot accepts Control4 Z-Wave modules (sold separately) Z-Wave modules C4-ZWE, C4-ZWH, C4-ZWU (sold separately)

  3. To round out my question, I use a Mi Casa Vera today to manage my z-wave devices.  If I can move them to a Control4 controller, I would like to do that.  Would getting a CA-1 to manage the z-wave devices, and continue using my EA-5 as the main controller be an option?  The CA-1 would then act similar to what the Vera is doing today but I'm sure it will be much faster.

  4. I have an EA-5 and EA-1 and have also purchased the z-wave module.  I can setup a z-wave network and detect/join modules/switches to the z-wave network but the generic z-wave drivers don't work on the EA controller.  Is there an issue preventing the generic drivers from working on the EA vs CA controllers?  The z-wave module is the same and the driver allows you to bind the generic driver to the z-wave module but then the driver says that it's not-connected and doesn't seem to query the device to get the information.  Is there really a difference in how the EA and CA operate with z-wave devices, even though the module is the same?

Just spoke with Axon - they are updating their Philips Wiz Driver to work with the enhanced lighting controls in OS 3.3.  ETA is a few weeks.

I'll say here again that the integration has been flawless with C4 and that the quality of the Philips Wiz tape lights and bulbs are on par with the Hue series at nearly 1/2 the price.  Also no hub.

How did you get in touch with Axon?  They developed the Nexlux driver I have but when I tried to fill out the contact form on their website, it didn't "submit" the information.  Can you send the contact info you have?  Or, do you know if they plan on updating all their drivers (Nexlux included)?

Control4 OS 3.3 update adds RGBW Lighting support

Today Control4 announced the release of OS 3.3.  Chowmain Software & Apps has been working diligently with Control4 to upgrade or rewrite many of our lighting drivers to provide support for some exciting new features which add full color wheel options to the Control4 interface along with color temperature and many product specific features.

6 drivers by Chowmain are available now with OS 3.3 lighting support

Existing customers that have purchased these drivers in the past will get to upgrade to the newest driver for free.  For those who have not utilised our drivers before all of our drivers come with a 90 day trial.

Link below to mailblast with further details.

Does this also support Magic Home devices?  Like these:

  7. Not entirely true.  There is a compatibility aspect.  e.g. Control4 zwave dongle only supports a very small list of zwave devices.  If zwave support for all generic devices covered everything, then Vera wouldn't be needed.  I know some of my light/switches won't join the Control4 zwave network.  I'd like to know which manufactures Flex actually supports.

  8. Mattcwiokoski,  Do you have a list of supported zwave devices for the FlexControl?  I have a lot of Leviton switches and Aeotec.  That's the great thing about Vera, they pretty much support all zwave devices.  However, they broke their C4 integration when they moved to the new Ezlo hardware/software.  So, I'm interested in looking at other zwave options.

  9. Hey, There are many of you on here who have been using Vera with the Extra Vegetables driver to control your z-wave devices.  I have about 80 z-wave switches in my house and it works well enough but is somewhat slow.  They state that there are some speed improvements in the Ezlo platform.  I just purchased an Ezlo to upgrade the speed of the interface and found out that they no longer support the API that Vera used.  So, this means that the Extra Vegetables driver will not work with Ezlo.  Since they have stopped making Vera, it's concerning to me that if my Vera hardware dies, I'm SOL.  (I just purchased another Vera as a backup but it's almost impossible to find one, even on Ebay.)

Since Extra Vegetables was purchased by Control4 back in 2014, can we get one of the team familiar with the driver to update it to work with the new Ezlo API?  I'm sure I'm not the only one who is making this request due to the scarcity of Vera HW.  I'd even be happy to put some $$s behind the update.  It's got to be less expensive, and less of a hassle, than replacing $4k worth of z-wave gear.

Any update from Control4 or even Chowmain would be most appreciated.  If @Chowmain @alanchowwants to develop the updated driver, I'd be happy with that as well.  He does some great work.

  10. Martymohr, Agreed.  I do the same thing with notifications an one of my other devices, but I can't see current state of a Scene as South Africa pointed out.  On my other device and notification it's on a mechanical pump, so I can check it's state but schedules would be "hidden" from the UI.  Thanks again for all the help on this.  Do you get updated icons for Chowmein or bNet (i.e. OS 3.0 icons)?
