I have been reading this forum and many others for a while now as I do my research. I am building a new home and plan on using Control4 for the lights at a minimum. I am then trying to decide on how to go about my WHA setup. There will be around 12-14 zones and one option is to use the Triad 24*24 Matrix and a couple of their 8 zone amps. Problem is that my wife really wants to have intercom in the home and the Control4 solution for that is expensive as you need the touch screens in every room. With that in mind, I am considering using the HTD Lync 12 for both audio and intercom. With their new updates it seems like a nice system, but I would be limited to 12 zones and I feel like native control4 audio might be better. I would be likely using the EA-5 as I will also have a dedicated HT and would use Control4 for that. So I am debating the following:
Control4 audio all the way using Triad matrix and amps.
Control4 audio using their matrix and 3rd party amps to save on cost. (what amps would be recommended for this and what are the trade offs?)
Use either of the above, then just wire for touchscreens and then maybe add them slowly for intercom.
Use the above, but use a 3rd party intercom like Russound Compoint. Any other systems you would recommend for intercom in this situation? Brilliant?
Use HTD lync 12 for both audio and intercom.
