  1. So, it has worked previously - sending test messages tho.

I received a text message from control4 saying my sump alarm has activated.

I can't seem to remember where I add my cell phone number to it tho anymore.

    thx for the help

EDIT:  Seem to have got it working, for my sump alarm.

Another notification I'm trying to get working is:

If system is in alarm state away, and then alarm is triggered (say door is opened and code not input(break and enter)) then send notification message.

Os2 so programming is a bit tricky. Can anyone suggest some options here?

  2. I'm trying to configure a text message push notification when the Sump Pit alarm is activated /or the smoke detector is activated.

I have set up a Push Notification in Agents - Category security, Severity alarms, Subject, etc.

Under programming for example, I have a Sump Water Level object with events like When sump water level senses water - Send push notification "sump water alarm"

I have it set under my customer portal to receive all alerts to my iphone. However nothing is getting pushed.

Not sure what I'm missing here?

    Any clue?

Caveat: There are folks on here much smarter than me, but this could be as simple as:

Create a timer called [kitchen lights].  Set the time for [x] minutes

When motion detected in living room -> turn on kitchen light switch -> start timer "Kitchen Lights"

Program the Kitchen Lights timer to: when timer expires -> if no motion in living room -> turn off kitchen lights

Then program the switch to -> when bottom button pressed -> stop the timer.  This will create your override.

One thing to understand is there are several ways of doing this - you could also create a macro.  Don't be afraid to play.

my wife yelled at me because every time she left and came back the lights came on... or she would toggle the switch off, it would sense motion and come back on LOL

  4. Hey everyone!

Need your collective programming minds for this one!

I have a c4 dimmer switch in my kitchen. also have a motion sensor in the kitchen. The kitchen is open to the living room, so sometimes motion in the living room can be detected in the kitchen. I'm trying to think of a clever way to have motion sensor activating my kitchen lights and either turning off after certain period of time, no motion, or staying on until I press the dimmer switch to override current state.... Or even something completely out of the norm.

Looking for input on some possible solutions here to automate the lighting experience.

I'd even purchase the lighting driver if needed.

    thx folks!!

  5. This programming change from last night didnt act as it should this morning. What happened when I opened the mudroom door after 6am - the kitchen lights turned on...

No reason why they should... the program says only between 10pm and 6am.

I think it's the if less than 50% if statement that is causing them to ignore the Time check... is there a better way to do an else statement?

IF time between 10pm and 6am

    THEN ramp to 100

ELSE IF less than or equal to 50% during 10pm and 6am

    THEN ramp to 100.

    Sorry, I suck at programming...

  6. Please have a look at my script.

I'd rather have it say Ramp to level 100 on the living room Kitchen over 1000 milliseconds (or whatever appropriate time I need).  the problem is the ramp rate doesnt seem to work, it goes straight to full power light. Any idea?

I can press and hold the physical dimmer switch and it gradually ramps up or down as desired, so I know the bulbs at least are capable of dimming.

Not sure what else I'm missing here.

  7. I haven't noticed a cold start value set.

In my initial dealer install I can press and hold the dimmer switch on or off and it will ramp down nice and slow to either 0% or 100% or anything in between.

I can't be certain the value is 80% (haven't looked in composer) but yes they are pretty bright immediately after the action happens.

I'll grab some screen shots later this evening and add them to this topic.

  8. Hey everybody,

I'm trying to play with some lighting scenes in the house with Composer HE and the ramp rate I am trying to configure is not working as desired. For example I have it when my front door opens -> my living room lights ramp up to 100 over a period of time. What ends up happening is the door opens, the lights immediately go to like 80% and then they seem to ramp up to 100 but slowly. Not the desired 0% ramping to 100% over 5 seconds type of thing.

    any idea? thx everybody.

I can forward some screen caps of my settings when I get home tonight if needed.

I would change this to kitchen has not sensed movement for 5 minutes.

This can be achieved by starting a 5 min timer every time the kitchen motion sensor senses motion and then checking against the timer instead of the sensor in your logic above.

so essentially, the sensor is checking every 5 minutes regardless if someone is home or not, and every time someone creates motion the lights are going on?

I have mine setup to turn on the garage and mud room lights when I open the garage door only if the alarm is armed. The door sensors are seen by C4 from the alarm integration.

    Oh I like that!

If security is armed, no motion on sensors... then when I open mudroom door the lights come on... That doable?

  11. Right right.

So, I have a motion sensor as part of my alarm system which is integrated to my c4 app in my kitchen which I want to take advantage of.

I also have the door sensor integrated.

So yes, if occupancy is null, mudroom door opens, activate kitchen lights to 100%. But only once, not every time the mudroom door is open.

    If that makes sense

  12. Hey everybody

Just got composer HE installed yesterday. quite the program and looks like it’ll take some time to learn.
What I’m looking for is... when I open my mudroom door, it triggers kitchen/living room lights on.

Thing is... I don’t want it to trigger the lights every time the door opens lol. Just once, when I get home for example.

Has anyone had a situation like this?

    thx everyone!!

    Steve

  13. Hey everybody,

Curious how others have integrated their FireTV sticks. I have the non 4k version. My dealer is telling me there is considerable input lag between the remote and the processor.

Any idea how to fix this?

or is it not worth adding the fireTV stick to my system?

    thx

  14. Hello,

I'm new here so bare with me.

Has anyone had success integrating the TP-Link HS200 /HS220 into their C4 systems?

Reason I ask, my dealer hasn't "tested" or installed any so they aren't able to tell me if they work or not. They directed me here. 😑

the wifi light switches are a great price right now in my area, so I'm looking to add this functionality, instead of going with the overpriced C4 switches.

    Thanks for your time!!

    Steve
