It’s true. Control4 has significantly more potential functionality, but it’s $600 (EA1) + $600 (remote) versus URC which is ~$300. Need to pay for programming for either so that’s a wash. So really depends on how much more OP plans beyond just a remote.
To clarify, the original NEEO remote was a Kickstarter project, and was intended as a standalone remote, which came with it's own hub. Unfortunately, support for the original NEEO remote was limited to 2 years from when Control4 bought the company, so there's really no ongoing support for this configuration.
The Control4 Neeo remote uses very similar hardware, but was not designed or intended to use as a standalone remote, and will not work as such.
