Joshua Pressnell
I have an older control4 system running OS 1.7 (highest I'm aware of that it'll take). The original installation put in tons of AV equipment, but only 2 switches and 1 dimmer in the whole house. I'm looking to expand the lighting control, and need as many switches, dimmers, and auxiliary pads as I can get. If you have some, preferably older/used, I'm interested. SY3
I have a few and may be more. See my post below: http://www.c4forums.com/topic/18548-fs-newused-switchdimmerskeypads-old-style/ The C4-DIM1-Z is not compatible with 1.7 but the others are. Joshua Pressnell
That begs an interesting question... how can you tell what hardware is compatible with OS 1.7? I'm interested in adding some auxiliary switches for 3-way. Will that work with 1.7, or do I have to get the standard 2 button keypads and hook those up via composer? Is there a list of hardware that works with 1.7 somewhere? Thanks!
SY3
Don't know if there is a particular list but you can tell by the model number for most things. Some of the model numbers are only Pro like the new switches/keypads. I know what I have is on 1.7.4 since that's what I'm running. For the 3 way. I use 1 switch with (2) 2-button keypads. Just have to make sure they have not been upgraded to Pro. Once they are, there is no way to downgrade them (that is documented).
Cyknight
The aux won't work - those ONLY work on the new gen devices, which themselves won't work on 1.7.4 Simply put - you MUST have devices that run embernet, thus any model brought out AFTER the move to ZigBeePro is not compatible. Cyknight
ALSO note that devices cannot be downgraded - once on Pro, you cannot use them in versions lower than 1.8.2 So you're looking less for model numbers, but for devices running on embernet.
