Gix656
Why? Google, Apple, Netflix got this. At native Blu-ray and 4K quality? My 1:1 blu-ray rips are 20-30 GB. 10 movies and I would be at my internet usage cap.

Think nothing is lost in that 4x compression?

Think nothing is lost in that 4x compression? Yeah. Look, in the end, QUALITY wise, no streaming service is or is coming CLOSE to what you get from true discs or even full disc iso rips. Now, whether there is a MARKET for that quality (at their price) - THAT is the big question. And frankly - other than a 'resume operations' it's been rather quiet. They have pushed an OS update and HDR. They have put prices up in the kStore. Stuff is happening.
forum
When all is said and done. 99% of people are happy with 1080p because it matches how many dollar bills are in their wallet. By the time HDR is worth purchasing, Google, Apple, Netflix will be delivering.
