Matt80230
I currently have a AVM-16A2-B and am wondering if it is possible to have it upgraded to the specs for the newer V3? If so how much would it cost? How long would I be without it?Would I deal with my dealer or with Control4 directly?
Cyknight
You can't - at least not officially. Don't know of any tinkerers either but I have my doubts it's even possible in any way that wouldnt be more expensive than buying a new one.Not that the Specs are that different... Matt80230
I've been told by my dealer that the V3 has a much better amplifier and I would like the equalizer feature.I know I don't need any of it, but what are peoples thoughts? Is the V3 worth the cost of replacing the V2?
RyanE
If the V2 is defective, there used to be an RMA option through Control4 that would essentially bring it up to V3 specs (minus the Gold-plated output posts, but V3 'guts').I don't remember what the cost is/was for that, or if it's been discontinued, but if it still exists, it's a *repair* option, not an 'upgrade' option. In any case, if the V2 is working well for you, I'd stick with it. As Cyknight said, the specs are not all that different.RyanE
RyanE
Oh, and any RMA-type issue goes through the dealer. Control4 won't RMA for customers directly.RyanE
CFUG
The Control4 amp (V3 at least) is a remarkable piece. I challenge anyone here on this forum to say they have used it the way I have for as long. I do believe I have entertained more here with this lump than the Orange County Fair has hosted one-foot-in-the-grave 80s bands.
