TexasBill
I had this set up and cannot remember how to do it.My media server has an IP address and I would like to copy my vacation pictures into the Media directory and have them display on my televisions.I have done this before and Control 4 parses them our into different directories depending on the pictures size.I cannot for the life of me figure out what I did the last time to make it so that my vacation pictures can be displayed on my TVs - I know that I turn my TVs on without a signal and then the pictures display as the "screen saver".Can someone tell me how to get this to happen please?i.e. I want to display my pictures from my vacation on my televisions (several of them) - how is this best accomplished? Thanks,Bill
Letran
I put the navigator up on the TV screen. Set the navigator to turn to Screensaver after a few minutes of idle time
TexasBill
OK - I have figured out how to get all the resolutions created for screen saver - the problem is that now it is choosing to display a very SMALL resolution on the large screen.Any chance there is a "use this resolution" to display option? It is showing the fingernail resolution that it created.Bill
dogdvr
How did you create the resolutions, with an outside program?
TexasBill
How did you create the resolutions, with an outside program? No - amazing as it may seem - if you go to to Media and select Screen saver and then click on ADD and point to the pictures that you want to add - it creates all the resolutions automatically for you and you can see them in your explorer.Bill
dogdvr
Ok just wanted to make sure you did it that way, but it is interesting that it is choosing the wrong one.Let me do a search on the KB

CFUG
I don't use photo SS but I checked here and photos are filling the screen (sans gray bars). Looks pretty cool on a 10.5- fills the entire screen.

So the pictures that were resized and put into the different folders are all ICON sized. I am deleting everything and retrying it to see if I screwed it up.Bill

CFUG
That 155 KB is about right for the orig. images. That's what I'm showing give or take. Largest is 218...

Largest is 218...All of the sizes are that small - NOTHING has larger than that - they all show to be very small on the screen - it worked before - just now it will not show full screen.Sure would like to solve this.Bill
CFUG
^I'm saying that 150~200 KB is what I'm showing as the largest in the control4_pictures folder and whatever C4 is picking, photos show full-screen (minus bars on 16:9 TVs). 10.5" shows edge-to-edge and living color. Thanks - I will keep working on it.Bill
CFUG
Well, OK. I mean, I'm not happy you're going through this but this narrows it down to a mis-selection of sorts within Control4. That's a new one on me and it would be comforting if a dealer could turn-up something in the KB files...
Cyknight
Mhh I do use the photo screen saver on TV's at my home and I show a fully filled screen (well depending on image original dimensions, but you get the idea. Here's what I see in my "picture storage folder (HC1000 internal HDD):9 different folders: 16x16, 320x240, 640x480, 720x480, 800x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1920x1080_orig.Named EXACTLY so.Smalles size folder has all images at 1Kb, largest are 150-300plus depending on original picture.Question is how I imported them. Either the usual way - media -> screensaver -> add OR simply load the originals to the HC1000....Did you push the "check resolutions" button under media -> screensaver? If using the latter option of adding pics as I described above that's a requirement, but I'd do so anyway to be sure. Can't find a thing resembling this in KBWhat are you using to manage this? ie are you using Composer ME, HE?Did you do anything that may have affected services in your main controller? SSH, Telnet etc...
