therodog
Hey y'all, quick question ... I live in Houston, Texas and most of the year it's ridiculously hot and humid. I was thinking about installing a 6 button keypad into a tabletop unit on my back patio to control the fans and lights outside. How will a unit like that hold up to being in the elements all the time? It's a covered patio, it'll never be exposed to rain/snow, but it's gets hot out there.R
RyanE
Heat is probably OK, as long as it doesn't get wet.I have 6-buttons in the garage that gets pretty hot during the summer, never had any issues.RyanE

LSDave
yeah, i see heat being more of an issue than the cold for dimmers. Especially if they are being dimmed. A switch in direct sunlight could easily run 20 degrees Celsius hotter than normal. That combined with the heat output from its own circuits.... i could see things getting cooked.
