250 remote

forgot how to program the 4 color buttons on the 250 remote in composer.

I swear i did it pre 2.3 by just going into the programming tab ...then to "device event" and click on the remote.

you have to go to the room in programming, then select commands....then you will see the list of the remotes buttons

for example.....programming......master bedroom (left side)....select commands...select blue button.............then goto right side and program whatever it is you want to attach to the master bedroom blue button

additionally this can be done on a source device by device basis.

i.e the red/blue/green/yellow buttons can do something different depending on what device is selected in use (in addition to what room you are in)

Yes, but it is done under the properties of the device not in programming. Also much easier in my opinion.

Depends what your trying to accomplish

I prefer to do them at the ROOM level. Little more laborious, but much more flexibility.
