Well, Insteon is releasing their Hub v2 (2245-222) and they decided to drop the built-in IP PLM functionality to lower the price... This will make the Insteon driver for Control4 incompatible with those new Hub. They will soon discontinues the Hub v1 so no more IP interface will be available for Control4 integration. The new hub focus only on basic automation task using an iPhone or iPad.

So starting in 2015, the only Interface available that work with our driver is the PowerLinc Serial Modem (2413S), it is possible to purchase it and there is no plan for discontinue it (yet)

You can also find cheap Hub v1 (2242-222), Smartlinc (2412N) and use 2413S on eBay to use with our driver.

It's a bit disappointing, we have put lot of work to soon release a new version with built-in module link function to avoid the need of using Houselinc, light v2 and keypad proxy support, faster response time, new algorithm to avoid missing inbound commands, automatic module identification with real name and more... I really hope Insteon will not remove the 2413S of the market or else this driver is dead...

I thought Insteon just released a new REST API

Yes I know about this API but it's FAR from what we can do using direct PLM control, as how our driver is made. The driver rely on feedback for many tasks like triggering stuff on keypad button or simulating a contact closed on I/O Linc to do plenty stuff within Control4. In fact, this driver goes way beyond what Insteon is made for, Insteon is just a basic home automation protocol for light and some device, it rely on device linked together and provide the option of sending commands through a central interface to do some basic scheduled task, no advanced programming or conditional is possible, but teamed with a Control4 system, those limitations are gone.

The REST API is Send-command only and miss some of the most powerful functions hidden in the PLM control interface that enabled most of the features of this driver, I really hope they will maintain at least the Serial Powerlinc for a while so keep going with Insteon and Control4 integration.

Just a quick clarification about Control4 OS 2.6/2.7 and the actual Insteon driver version 1.2.x, there is no issue running this Insteon version in Control4 OS 2.6 or 2.7, the issue possible issue is when you upgrade a 2.5.x project to 2.6/2.7, then you may have some Insteon Dimmer driver or other Insteon device driver that will cause issue, to resolve, just remove the problematic driver and re-add the same exact driver, it will work again and will never cause issue anymore. This is a frequent problem with many third party driver and the resolution is always the same: remove/re-add the driver and done.

Ok then... not sure what I'm doing wrong but my thermostat does not want to link to any of the controller I have. Best I managed to do is to link it directly to a Lamplinc for testing... Event the ISY99 I still have is not able to link this thermostat... Factory reseted  all the gear with no luck... I really need to get this thermostat to link to a controller for being able to sniff the commands and build the driver... Someone has an idea?

(Sorry guys for the french ... )

https://www.aartech.ca/rc840t-240-aube-240v-relay-with-transformer.html?gclid=CjwKEAjw6Z2pBRCmvaXq6d7FjUoSJAAc5LriVl8GihmcLszJ57HAGbtGCD9RqDDn9gQt1Sm8l3Vd-BoCGm7w_wcB

Insteon v2 is almost done, some quick features:

- Proxy V2, no more light driver initialisation problem

- Keypad Proxy for the Insteon Keypadlinc driver, LOT easier to program event from the Insteon keypad just like you would do with a C4 keypad. Better Volume Ramping support and button LED control.

- Fixed thermostat driver that stay in sync, upgraded to new thermostat proxy or OS 2.7 with humidity support

- Fanlinc support fixed

- ALDB support (you can link you modules and scenes right from Composer, no more need of Houselinc)

- Ultra integrator-friendly interface with status messages, module identification and the full Insteon management within Composer (unique feature even Z-Wave or Lutron does not offer)

- Tons of engine optimization to insure the fastest and most reliable integration

We need beta testers for the final testing phase prior of releasing. We need people who already use our previous Insteon driver, we don't want people only looking for free driver and never give any feedback.

If you already use our previous Insteon driver and want to try the new version, send us an email at info@domaudeo.com

We plan to release the final version in July, based on feedback from beta testers.

Thanks.

New Insteon driver v2 is now released. This driver will bring Insteon as close as possible to Control4 native experience. This highly integrator-friendly version is 100% stand alone and does not require Houselinc or any other external software. It can link Insteon modules, buttons and scenes right into Composer.

Using Proxy v2, it simplify a lot keypad programming which is now done exactly the same as with Control4 keypad.

Scenes are done right into Advanced Lightning Agent and is converted on-the-fly to native Insteon scene for perfect, synchronous scene without any popcorn effect.

Thermostat driver is now fixed and stay in sync. It use the new Thermostat proxy from 2.7.2 and add humidity and all the missing controls.

This is possibility the best third party lightning driver to offer a viable, cost effective alternative to Control4 lightning system while keeping the same Control4 experience, the best solution when your customer is tight on budget.

This driver is available through Houselogix, pricing hasn't changed. Insteon v1 is still available at discounted price.

This driver require the PowerLinc Serial Modem (2413S) or Insteon Hub v1, it DOES NOT WORK with Insteon Hub v2. Hub pro is untested, we can't say if it is compatible of not.
