smarch
So I have something strange going on. However I could be completely out to lunch (again). Every time I connect my 1st gen iPad to my network to control my system, my router goes down. basically it drops all wireless connections and wont let any new ones attach. I lose my wifi connection to my phone etc. I have to reboot the router to get it working again. Anyone know if an iPad can do this? Or is this just a coincidence? I stopped using the ipad and the network has stayed strong. No issue at all. I'm ready to throw the ipad out! Cheers
cdepaola
Actually any device could potentially do this if its causing or part of an IP conflict
Cyknight
another possibility is that you have a mixed network type or security setting, and that 1st gen ipad can only handle the more basic variety while the others, being newer may connect using "n" or wpa2 aes, the change kicking them off. Not all routers handle this nicely and things like you mention can happen.
