brucecampbell
I've tried researching via google, but not much luck, so thought I'd ask here. Is there anything wrong with using 1 run or 4 core speaker cable to run both left and right speakers?? I've used 4 core throughout my house but each run for one speaker.I have some left over.I'm planning to use it for some more outdoor speakers (KEF Ventura 6) run from an old Sony receiver. Thanks for the advice.
cdepaola
Technically nothing wrong with this your pairs just won't have an outer jacket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
RyanE
Do you mean 4 conductor speaker cable? If so, yeah, just run it past the first one, and to the second one. The first speaker uses one set of the 4 pair, the other speaker uses the other set. Some of my speakers are wired this way, you just have to be careful when you cut the jacket for the first speaker, that you don't cut the second pair (they should just go straight through to the second speaker). louisraza1
No no problem with it . i ran those speaker wires in my ceilling for my speaker and they sound perfectly. Like Fire/medic says one of your pair won't have the outer jack or you can cut the wire and keep it on.
brucecampbell
-Yes 4 conductor. Thanks all, I assumed it would be fine, but assumptions can lead to major stuff ups if not verified first....
RyanE
Or you can cut the jacket, leave the jacket on the rest of the wire, don't cut the second pair, and no problems. RyanE
