Hi all,

some decics such as amps, projectors...have a ir window/receiver at the front of the units, and also a 3.5mm IR at the back. I am wondering what the difference is between the two. Can I simply remove the flasher at the front and replace it with a 3.5mm cable into ir in at the rear or do you need to change the codes when doing so.

Usually it uses the same codes - you can certainly try. In some instances the driver may need a change though, there's no guarantee it will work.

is there a way to look up if there s a driver for it in the c4 database.

It would be the same driver - the difference is that there is a setting in driver to enable for 'direct ir' that is sometimes needed - sometimes it is not.

Ok, quick update.

i changed the ir flasher at the front of the device, and replaced it with a 3.5mm cable to the ir in at the back. 

Worked straight away and the best part is that it s a lot faster too, like increasing/decreasing volume, swapping inputs, just way faster.
