Mr_C4S
Hi all. First time poster here, please excuse me if this has been posted in the past. I have an EA5 controller, with Triad PAMPS100 8-Zone Amp. A few days ago, I noticed a very 'high pitch' sound from a number of my ceiling speakers. It was a continuous sound, very high frequency. I played some music to all zones, then ended the session and the speakers were fine. Few hours later, the sound came back so after instruction from my dealer, I powered down the Amp as it was getting very late. Unfortunately, since powering the amp back up, I cannot get ANY audio to any of the speakers in any zone. The high pitch sound has also gone. It seems like there is a problem with the Amplifier, but it has been working fine and has not been touched in months. My C4 Dealer did a hard-reset yesterday, powering everything down then back up again. Sadly, that has not made any difference as the Amp is still not producing any output. Does anyone have any knowledge / experience with this issue please?
lippavisual
Tell your dealer to call support for a RMA on that amp.
Mr_C4S
a Return Merchandise Authorization? Seems a little extreme, is there nothing else that can be tried in the meantime?

Your dealer is handling the issue, correct? Sounds like they are involved. Coming here for more help seems reasonable, but I think most will simple tell you its probably broken if the resets and power cycles didn't work and your dealer is already looking at it. If the noise came over your speakers without a source on then it sounds like there is a real problem. I'd suggest that if you want to still mess with it you could work with your dealer and test swapping the input connections and cables. I assume you haven't had the dealer out to the physical location yet.
lippavisual
Not extreme at all. You have a problem. Tried reboots to no avail. Only other option is to get it replaced under warranty.

Mr_C4S
Quick Update: the Dealer came out to my house, but was unable to fix the Amp. This has now been processed via RMA, awaiting delivery of replacement. Will keep you posted. Thanks all.
Mr_C4S
Amp replaced. All working OK now. No idea what the fault was, it was a brand new amp which packed up after 6 months of general home use. New one now installed and working.
