Time2Jet Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 I'm about to take the door station plunge. Tired of attempting to get nest and ring to do things the current API and cloud based issues won't permit. My goal is to get video to my displays from the door. What are the benefits of the C4 DS2? Who has and was it a good decision? Thanks always. Quote
Crustyloafer Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 The DS2 just works, video quality/resolution is not great but as long as you have a controller at each display location for OnScreen Nav you will get live video easily at each display. Time2Jet 1 Quote
eggzlot Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 What’s your field of view? A lot of the big box store consumer items you mentioned have a better wider FOV. How and where you mount it can make a huge difference. ring is 150-160 degree FOV. DS2 is 120. That’s huge. The original DS was roughly the same and didn’t work for me. So I had to find another solution that allowed the angle of the physical camera to be adjusted or a camera with a wider FOV. I have a plain install - doorststion right to the side of my door. Nothing out of the ordinary. Time2Jet 1 Quote

Anytime I’ve done anything involving the local controllers and OSD, there’s been a considerable lag in the time the video is shot until displayed. Switching issues I’d imagine.
