outmotoring
Has anyone had any problems running IR signals over Cat5 cable (30-50') and into a xantech or Russound IR distribution block? For the life of me I can't get a signal to work. I am not sure if the distribution block is doing something to the signal that makes it null or if the signal is not strong enough to get to block if using IR outputs spliced into single runs of a specific color on both the in and outputs...(just black and red IR lead wires over maybe brown and orange cat5 for example)... crazybuppie
Should work just fine. I have ran IR from a controller much longer than 50' with no issue. Make sure you are keeping the polarity correct...if you reverse the +/- it will *not* work.
