Drake0508
Looking to purchase an IQ Panel 2 and integrate into Control4. There are several different versions that seem to support different types of sensors. There is one with a red box, one with a yellow box and one with a grey box. What should I know before I buy as a person who knows very little about security systems? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

dinom
You want the IQ Panel 2+, which as you said comes in 3 flavors. Each one supports a different "legacy" frequency mode for sensors. I was upgrading from a 2GIG system, so I chose the 345MHz one, so I didn't have to replace any of my wireless sensors. The 345MHz version is also compatible with Honeywell. The other flavors are for DSC (433MHz) and Interlogix (319MHz). All 3 versions, however, support the PowerG encrypted sensors. If you are starting from scratch, you could really pick any of the 3 versions. Hope this helps.
dinom
Scroll to the bottom of this page for details: https://qolsys.com/iq-panel-2-plus/ By the way, Ari integrated my new IQ Panel 2+ with C4 a few weeks ago, and it's been working great! Drake0508
Thank so much for the info! Makes sense now. Ari is the one that told me about it so I went ahead and ordered it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
neil12011
I actually have a few of these panels from when I left the business. I was never a huge part of the security side of things, but can these be setup by an end user? My panel knowledge was Concord, DSC, and Vista20. dinom
Yes Neil I was able to set mine up as an end user. I have Surety as my Alarm.com dealer, and they work exclusively with DIY folks. www.suretyhome.com neil12011

Does it integrate through the monitoring company? Or is hardware attached to the actual panel? Better question is do I need a monitor account to integrate it into Control4? If so, what did you do to get it set up?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dinom
The connection is made locally over WiFi. I don’t think you need an Alarm.com account or central monitoring, but I don’t know for sure since I have both setup with mine still. neil12011 and Drake0508
