Time2Jet
How common is it to use speaker switches? Same client trying to add inputs is trying to dual use speakers.
Cyknight
I wouldn't call it common, but it's hardly unheard of. The primary setup we've used them for is to use ceiling speakers in a 5.1 or 7.1 setup for open concept rooms to be used for audio using distribution amps. For example, having a 7.1 living room on a surround amplifier for when watching movies, but as the living room is open to kitchen and dinging areas, use a speaker switch to feed a C4 amp zone to the four ceiling mounted ceiling speakers for when music is played across the zones (to ensure 100% sync). Precise use case @Cyknight. Do you have a preference for brand/model line?
Cyknight
Always used the Niles ABS1 (signal sensing) or SPK1 (trigger/relay controlled), but don't think they manufacturer those anymore. Russound makes an automatic (sensing) one (AB-3.2) that I'm told works fine, but haven't installed one myself. Time2Jet
