Out of Memory Error

I’m receiving an Out of Memory error whenever I try to do a backup.  Has anyone else seen this problem?

Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Any way to add memory to a CA10?

That's frustrating to say the least - especially on an CA10.  I'm not aware of what normal memory usage should look like but I've noticed memory usage that seems high since upgrading to 3.2.3 from 3.2.1 - and simultaneously upgrading from an EA1 to an EA5 as our primary controller  Generally, the EA1 was using under 50% memory using 3.2.1, once we upgraded to 3.2.3 and the EA5 I'm now seeing roughly 70-75% (about 2355 MB) consistent memory usage with CPU about 1-3% and jumping at times to 26%+. It seems odd to see higher average memory usage on a much more powerful controller model.  I wonder if there could be a bug in 3.2.3 maybe a memory leak or something?  Otherwise maybe there's a rough driver causing it......That being said, I haven't seen any performance issues at all on our new EA5 and 3.2.3 - certainly an upgrade from the EA1 which we'd pushed far beyond the intended use.

I’ve got 2 issues at present (unable to save backups due to this out of memory error and my T3s are not booting up - stuck on getting pool properties).  Apart from that, my projects are very stable at present.  Same issues on both projects.

What does your memory and CPU usage say in resource manager?  Does memory actually show 100% usage?

My CPU usage tends to trundle along between 1% and 5% although it does occasionally jump to 25% and I have even once seen it jump to 50%. My memory was sitting at 1700Mb when I last looked. (I have seen this up above 2,000 Mb previously).  This does not seem excessive!  I think that the out of memory error (when I try to save) relates to the size of the project and the number of devices / drivers (about 1,100) and the fact that I have some quite big drivers.

The issues don’t make sense to me but my dealer and country rep have had tech support looking at this for a few weeks so I have fingers crossed…

Old thread but anything come of this? I’m having the same issues with backing up and I have an odd audio issue that may or may not be related.

I still cannot save locally and will be taking this up with my country rep again in the next few days.  I know that he is following up with head office weekly… it is scary!

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
