Time2Jet
I have a commercial project that will have the same music playing in all of the common areas of a suite. The corridors have a large U-Shape and I know where and how many, just don't know if I can use Dual Voice Coils or just mono sum regular single coil speakers for these areas. Ideas? 2 16 Channel Triad Amps pushing the distributed audio. TIA
lippavisual
Commercial typically would lead to using a 70V speaker distribution so that the speakers can be daisy-chained. Left and Right signals get summed to mono from the amplifier. Usually they are installed roughly every 10-15’, depending on ceiling height, because they have a wide dispersion (100 degrees +) Another good reason is most commercial spaces require plenum rated speakers that use a backcover. If you’re going to use what you’ve got, then I’d get a stereo to mono converter for your source and then split that into the left and right channels on the global input. This way all speakers have the same mono sound.
