pkkaiser
@jackstoneThere are no instructions in driver how to set up a group of RGB lights to work as one. Do you do Red [1][4][7]? That is accepted, but cannot do same to Green and blue channels? And it doesn't work...Is there 3.3 instructions somewhere? In old driver, you would say 3 fixtures, 3 channels, and put in DMX numbers. Thanks for making a great driver, just need some instructions

pkkaiser
thanks, those show 3.3 release notes, not how to group lights using the new Domaudio DMX LED driver (https://www.blackwiredesigns.com/store/advanced-dmx-for-control4/). The old version of the driver worked great to have on dimmer for a group of LED lights controlled by different DMX controllers. New one cannot do this? It hasn’t changed in that regard…at least not that I can see. I just put them on the same channel and they work as one.
pkkaiser
Here is the scenario: Large cove with 3 separate LED strips of 16feet each. Each strip controlled by its own DMX controller. Want one "light" in C4 UI that controls brightness/color Old driver: Used Group RGB dimmer, put in 3 "fixtures" and the DMX for each color. eg red [1][4][7] - all turned on/changed color etc with the one RGB control New Universal driver: no place to put number of fixtures, need a separate driver for each DMX control, so now in the room I have 3 "lights" instead of one. Should only appear as one since they are always together. I can put in red [1][4][7] in the red channel, but not in green or blue and this does not allow the one driver to control 3 DMX controllers. There are no instructions in the driver documentation how to do this like there was in the old driver. @jackstoneany suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? thanks ! Jeff W
@pkkaiser I believe what you have to do is use the new "DMX Universal Dimmer" driver. Configure it for RGB or RGBW. In the Red DMX channels enter it as follows [1,4,7] In the Green DMX enter it as [2,5,8] In the blue DMX channels enter it as [3,6,9] You'll have to calculate your Red, Green and Blue channels accordingly. But if you do that, you can then use the color wheel to control everything with one control. I believe this is what you're after. I have 7 DMX separate zones using RGBW and a total of 35 channels and this worked for me. I hope this helps. pkkaiser and LollerAgent 1
pkkaiser
Thank you!!! It was putting them all in one parenthesis...that worked...Sure wish there were instructions for this awesome driver.
LollerAgent
I'm actually having a different issue. At first, I left the V2 "DMX Engine" master driver in place, and just used the V3 "Universal Dimmer" driver. Things worked as expected. I was able to control the loads using the new drivers, etc. Next, I replaced the V2 version of the "DMX Engine" driver with the new V3 version. In Composer, I connected the serial port of my controller to the new DMX engine. It shows online, etc. But, none of the loads are working. I can use the "All channels on" action of the driver and all of my lights do come on, but I'm unable to get individual channels to work via the other drivers. If I use the "Show DMX devices" action, every channel says "No device." I rebooted the DMX engine and the controller. Any ideas?
Jeff W
Did you rebind the DMX engine to the dimmers and effect switches?
pkkaiser
I updated the DMX engine first then put in the universal driver (then when each light was working deleted v2 light drivers). Worked fine. Maybe the install of the universal requires dependencies that aren’t made by the V2?

The new drivers were still bound to the old DMX engine. Thanks for the tip!
