Button and LED behavior

Olichops

Question

So I have one keypad light that is the load on the keypad that has strange behavior. In the Macro at night to turn off all lights, this light would not turn off but the LED for the light and all other connected keypads LED turn off. Light is set to off in the Macro. I changed the behavior of the button to "toggle load" and the LED to "follow load" and it work now. I noticed that the led now flashes on the load keypad when it is pressed on/off. Should all light loads on a keypad be set this way for the button controlling the load on the keypad? Can someone explain the uses or defintions of the different behaviors for LED and Button settings in Composer as the manual sucks in this area!

Trying to understand:

You had a keypad dimmer, and a button set trigger a house off Macro, which turned off all the lights (and does nothing else?) and the LED for it wasn't tracking (ie stayed blue)

If that is the case there's a bunch of things there not as they should be most likely, but let's at least add this:

In programming (for keypad dimmers ensure you select the keypad portion):

*set LED on or off means SET THE LED ON/OFF COLOURS to selected colour. IE you are changing what the LED colours are (ie instead of blue and black green and red)

this LED 'off' does NOT mean you're turning the physical built in LED on or off.

*set LED current is where you actually change the current LED colour (and to 'turn it off' you select black)

I suspect that is where the confusion is.

so the macro is set to turn off all lights and triggered in programming. All lights do tuirn off execpt on on a Keypad. The kepad button #1 which is connected to the load that will not turn off, the led and all all other keypad LED's turn off but the load(light) did not turn off. Manual and touch screen commands work fine also. Hope that makes iy more clear. Just tryoing to understand the uses for the different beahviors for the load and LED like follow load, etc

how is keypad setup.  post a screenshot from Composer HE to see if LEDs are set to follow load or programming or binding.

This is how it is now working. Before it was set like al the other lights with "button behavior = keypad" and "led Behavior = Follow Connection"

right and this is what is required since you want the LED to track the load.  You don't want a button behavior of follow connect because in this case you don't have a connection (binding) on the button, you are using programming
