chopedogg88
check to make sure you're not having an IP address conflict

cdcllc
My next steps would be to (1) power cycle the Triad matrix and see if that solves the problem, then (2) try another port on the switch.
PGriffin
I am experiencing the same problem with a AMS16. I Also reserved my ip address and changed switch Port and patch cable. Also replace the unit. And the matrix is the only device with a problem. I am using OVRC and can see when the unit goes offline. I think there is bad firmware out there. Going to contact tech support again. chopedogg88
Had this happen recently with an AMS16 for a client. He was sure it was a bad unit but it turns out he had an IP address conflict.
PGriffin
Hi thanks. I have a reservation on the dhcp server and I changed to a different address when I installed the new unit. All of the other control4 equipment works just fine and none of them are going offline. Just the Audio Matrix. Thanks for your response
chopedogg88
Yeah it sounds like you've ticked off the boxes to rule out an IP conflict.
chopedogg88
I just ran into this with an 8x8, turns out the issue was trying to use the 8x8 v2 driver with an 8x8 v1. But that shouldn't apply with an AMS16 since there is only one version.
PGriffin
Hi I found out that there is a softare bug with the Controller and the AMS16 hardware is fine. This is according to tech support. The fix is to reboot the EA5 controller daily until a fix is available.

PGriffin
HI Control4 told me it is a Software issue with the Controller. I have an EA5 at my site. No Fix is available, they told me to reboot the controller daily. I am rebooting the controller and the Matrix switch at 5 am daily. C4 will issue a patch once they have identified the problem.
