Taylorm18
New to control4 and was hoping someone could help me out with a weird issue im having. Basic overview is everything appears to be controlled through IR (i've read about some being controlled through ethernet) everything worked normal until I tried to change out the ethernet switch. I took out the switch that came with the house and put in a new one. I tired to turn on the system and nothing happened. I then switched back to the old switch and the same thing. I then realized the problem was the receiver wasnt turning on. I turned it on manually and it started to work. Now the weird part is I thought nothing was working but the remote still controls the projector, the lights, and the blu-ray player. When I select blu-ray, the projector turns on and the blu-ray player turns on but nothing at the receiver. I can see the IR sensor light up on the blu-ray player so i assumed the IR light was bad. I swapped the blu-ray and the receiver IR and the receiver one lights up and the blu-ray does not so I dont think its the actual ir itself. Has anyone else had this problem or know of anything I can try? More info, the ir did pop off the receiver. I had tried holding it next to the receiver and it did not respond and it did not light up. I then plugged that IR into the blu-ray spot and just held the IR near the blu-ray and it lit up and worked.

Ur project need to be checked before assuming anything, u normally don’t swap things like that, proper trouble shooting is needed u can have a remote dealer checking ur project and u can help by doing this on-site, he will be able to tell what exactly is wrong and fix this! c4toys
could be a bad ir port if you switched ports and issues stayed with same port not working.
Taylorm18
Thanks for the help! I’m gonna try to see if they can remote in. Further investigation, there is in fact an Ethernet going to the receiver so I’m guessing it changed IP addresses. Not sure why there is an IR stuck to the front but I definitely wouldn’t have touched the switch if I knew anything was connected to it haha

You seem inherited the system, Do u know what is the controller and OS version, do u have access to customer.control4.com?
