IntrinsicGroup Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 For those of you that use our Apple TV Driver for tvOS16 we just wanted to confirm it is compatible with the newly released tvOS17 software. We have tested each public beta and now the released tvOS17 software and the driver is working as expected. Any problems with this or any of our drivers please contact our support team at www.intrinsicdev.com/support Kaas Mayer 1 Quote
rocky350z Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Is there any update on the mini app ability? Quote
IntrinsicGroup Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 The way Mini Apps are integrated has recently changed, so the beta we were working with is now unfortunately obsolete. We have the new info from C4 so need to re-look at it - we've just been bogged down with commissions for the last few months. Hoping to look at it again in the next couple months if there's enough demand from dealers. Quote
Kaas Mayer Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 i switched back to firetv because of the lack of miniapps Quote
IntrinsicGroup Posted October 5, 2023 Author Posted October 5, 2023 My understanding is the Mini Apps part of the integration also need to be checked through and signed-off by Control4, we've not been through that process yet so not sure how long it takes. If we do have a new Beta later on in the year we'll be sure to update the forum. Quote
IntrinsicGroup Posted September 24, 2024 Author Posted September 24, 2024 Pleased to confirm our Apple TV Driver is fully compatible with tvOS 18. The driver comes with a free 14 day trial period and can be found here - https://www.intrinsicdev.com/downloads/apple-tv-4k-tvos-16-driver-for-control4/ Quote
South Africa C4 user Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Did this driver ever come right with mini Apps? Quote
Rob21 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 It looks like it has a similar integration method to Josh (which has deep linking with Apple TV) so I would imagine that it is possible. South Africa C4 user 1 Quote
Kaas Mayer Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 i bought the driver, but i keep with my firetv. mini apps are a musthave.. Quote
IntrinsicGroup Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 We haven't added mini apps to the driver I'm afraid. We did a beta with a first implementation of it but then the process changed for mini app integration and we haven't gone through that process. It's a different process to a standard driver feature in that it has to be done in collaboration with C4 and signed off at multiple stages by them (from what we understand). We may still add it in the future but at the minute we're busy with commissions and they jump ahead in the queue over self-funded drivers I'm afraid. The quick launch codes for the apps are contained within the driver, so they are available for custom buttons etc but it requires programming by a dealer. Quote

I understand that it will not work like a mini app on the c4 side, but will it launch an app without navigating through the Apple TV menu? Quote
IntrinsicGroup Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 Yes, so they can be triggered in numerous ways through programming, some dealers have tied them up to custom buttons on the touchscreen or remote. As far as I understand it that would enable you to click a button with "Netflix" on for example and it will navigate straight to the Netflix app. Quote
