  1. I'm going to start a new thread on this to address another topic too
  2. Is it odd that the Araknis ports are not SFP+?
  3. Thanks. So those cables wont work? I'm looking for complete cables that will work the best with the Araknis switches
  4. Some thing like this? Just that these say SPF+ and I dont know if 10Gtek is a good brand? https://www.amazon.com/10G-SFP-DAC-Cable-SFP-H10GB-CU0-5M/dp/B01M09C9NZ
  5. All, My main switch is an Araknis 310. I want to connect two Araknis 210 switches via the SPF uplink ports. Can someone suggest some good cables to use? In the Araknis specs, it doesnt say if they are SPF+? So not sure what to use
  6. I have for sale three Ruckus R510 access points in excellent condition. Price is $125 each
  7. All, I'm trying to get a R610 to reset to factory settings. After holding down the reset button for 10-15 seconds, then trying to log into the AP using username (super) and password (sp-admin), the AP wont log in. The fields just go blank again like the wrong information was entered. I tried resetting it 2-3 times. The other R610s I'm also resetting worked just fine. Any idea on what I can do?
  8. The property is water front. So this literally is an access point away from the home that users can log into while on the beach or nearby in a boat to access the C4 system. There are speakers and burial subwoofer in that area as a music zone, so want to have good wifi signal when at that area away from the house.
  9. Thanks. Do you know of the indoor APs like the 610s and 710s can be painted or would this interfere with anything?
  10. I also need one outdoor access point. I have decided to use four Ruckus 610s and one Ruckus 710 for indoors, all on unleashed. Do I also need the 610/710 outdoor version, or would one of the lower models work well?
  11. Not really anything concerning the zone controller.
  12. Are you talking to me when you say "he"? Sorry, I must of misunderstood, I thought these forums were for questions? I would think you would not have to respond if it irritates you, right?
  13. But that is part of the problem. A nice metal surround or recess bracket, or something to that effect doesn't have to cost a ton of money AND doesn't have to be mandatory either. They could have at least provided an option to make the Chime look a bit nicer than having it look like every other cheap option on the market. I mean the C4 sales pitch is that isnt like the cheap systems, right? And price is relative, you can buy a fully functioning Chime doorbell for $59.99. The C4 Chime is still $400. My opinion doesn't matter, but just thought they could have designed it a bit better to make it more sophisticated looking and maybe provided an option to have it recessed, etc. by buying an extra $100 bracket or something to that effect. It doesn't have to jump to $1200 because someone wants it to look a bit more seamless.
  14. But C4 dropped the ball again on the design, in my opinion. If spending the money on a C4 system over these cheap Amazon/Best Buy/ door to door salesman systems, then the Chime should look like it. it should look more high end or "estately", not just like a cheap wireless doorbell that protrudes from the wall. At least make something that has the option to be built in or something that looks a bit richer. I'm sort of forced to use the Chime now because of its capabilities, but have to sacrifice the looks I guess. I just think it looks cheap.
  15. All, I will be having indoor 5 APs (have wired for six but drywallers covered up the cat6a wire so going to see how it goes first before trying to dig it out!!) and 1 outdoor AP, all on unleashed, and was wondering if I need a Zone Controller 1200? And if so, does having the Zone Controller interefer with speeds, etc.?
  16. So if kitchen was zone 1. The Echo in there would be connected via 3.5mm out to the audio matrix as lets say audio source 1. So when asking that echo to play music, it would send the signal to the matrix and matrix would auto sense incoming audio on source 1. Then by programming, the matrix would know that any audio received on source 1 indicates that audio needs to be played on Zone 1 and would then play that source in the kitchen? Would there be any issues with this? Like would if then we wanted to, via touch screens, add more zones to the already playing Zone 1? Can this be done? Or what would this show on the touchscreens? Can it be named so on touchscreens it just shows the source as "ECHO" or something like that? And if we wanted to change the source, we could juts easily select a different source on the touchscreen/iphone, etc.? Is there any delay in auto sensing? Does it work really well and no noticeable delay?
  17. What I meant is sometihng like saying "Alexa, play Vanilla Ice (haha) in the kitchen", and it would play to the whole home audio kitchen zone. Seems as simple as it gets, but told its really complicated, or it can be done but there will be delay, no art cover info on screens,, etc.
  18. Interesting and that is good. I wish I could have each Dot be a source into the matrix and play audio on my whole home audio system but I have been informed that there really is no good way to do this without limitations.
  19. All, I have devised a way to put Echo Dot 3s in ceiling and they are concealed. I went a bit overboard and have 14 of the them placed throughout the home. Question though, what will happen when two of the Echo Dots are within close proximity of each other and a command is given that two of the Echos can hear. Will they sort of "echo" each other and both do the same thing individually? Or are they sophisticated enough where they can determine which Echo is closest and that will be the only one that responds?
  20. So I have decided to purchase three Ruckus 610 models. For the other two, do you think I could use 510 models? Or should I throw in one 710 and make that the master?
  21. So I would not need a separate piece of equipment, just the five APs themselves. I got another somewhat related question. For all the smart TVs (12), what would be the best way to connect them to internet. If I had the five Ruckus APs, would it be better to let them connect to the internet via WIFI, or would it be better to connect them directly via ethernet? What would provide the fastest speeds and least amount of network congestion?
  22. If running five APs, do I need a controller?
  23. Does anyone have instructions on how to flash these to the best version of the Unleashed software? I heard some of the versions had trouble with speeds.
  24. You mean you dont need separate SSIDs for different Ruckus models?
