  1. I just purchased this TV for a bathroom hoping that C4 will work with it.  Has anyone used a driver successfully with Hisense TV specifically this series of TVs?  If so, what specific Hisense driver should be used to control it?   I'm hoping to control it via IP rather than IR.

  2. My dealer has suggested the Clare system which appears to be SnapOne product.

I'm looking at the Qolsys IQ Panel 4 and wondering a few things .

    1) do you just buy a panel or is there additional hardware needed for setup like a central hub or box such as the Concord had?  Looks like a Qolsys IQ Panel 4 panel runs $500+ which if that's all that's needed to get up and running (other than sensors) isn't too bad

    2) can older Ge Concord sensors be used in this system?

    3) how easy is setup with C4 integration?

    4) what monitoring service do users like?

  3. Very interesting post as I'm in the exact same position.  I had the GE Concord 4 at my old house, was never hooked up to a security company and I used it mostly for C4 activities but now need new panel/system for new house and looking for what will be good for monitoring company cost AND C4 functionality (ie door opens lights come on).  I'm open to any suggest as I really did enjoy the GE Concord

  4. I've disabled every setting I can see on the TV including autoplay of video and audio, HDMI CEC/ARC, notifications turned off, power control off, remote play off, deleted Netflix (read some people had issue with that causing booting to Netflix).... so far after an hour it's staying off.  At first with just a few things such as HDMI CEC/ARC it was still turning on after about 5 minutes....

I'll monitor today... If it comes back on, TV goes back.

Anyone with experience with Google TVs?  I've read that Roku is fairly proprietary and doesn't allow alot of apps to be used (such as Kodi)...

    disable HDMI CEC?

I have that disabled, same thing as my other failed FireTV .....

Just Googling, seems this is a widespread issue with FireTV's and randomly powering on without any reason.  Was hoping to use a cheap TV in the location without buying something like a Sony or higher end TV in the 43" size.

  6. Just purchased an Insignia FireTV and in process of having dealer finalize adding the bindings today hopefully though it's listed in my project right now.  However, in the middle of the night the TV turns itself on.  This morning I turned it off and by the time I was on my way out the door it had turned itself on again.

I had previously returned an Amazon FireTV that was doing the same thing so I'm wondering if this is a known FireTV issue or a Control4/FireTV interaction issue?  Has anyone seen this happen with their C4 integration of FireTVs?

The TV is fully updated, there is no remote control issue (ie remote isn't being squished in a couch), etc

  7. One thing I did find is that my EA5 had a custom EQ setting applied (globally to output 1) so I'm wondering if that was affecting the EQ in the room (though only the Kitchen where I've been having the EQ go back to settings that cause clipping is the room that changes... all other rooms don't change).  I'm going to try this with a flat EQ setting and just tweak each room individually and see if the EQ setting stays put where set.

Still it's a head scratcher as I would think once the EQ setting via amp is set/applied, it should stay at those values and not change by itself.

discover devices? sounds like c4.com is pulling the devices from the Amazon api.

Im thinking discover devices and then refresh c4.com

Did all of that.... refresh navigators, discover devices via Alexa, refresh, restart.... still an invisible room according to Voice Control (and it's not hidden or anything such as that as it shows perfectly fine on remote and phone app)

Did u make the room bindings for the Audio endpoint?

Yes, SAUNA audio running off C4 amp and working perfectly.  I can control it with the C4 app and remotes just no voice commands as MyControl4 doesn't have it listed/doesn't see it yet as a room.  Seems odd that the room wouldn't show up though as even my AV RACK (which I have listed as a room) shows up and there is no audio or video bindings for that.

Unfortunately, the EQ in the Navigator is not available for the older 16 zone amps.

It's only available for the EA5/CORE5 outputs, as well as on the Triad AMS8v2 and Triad AMS16 audio switches' outputs.

There is an EQ available for the V3 16 zone amplifiers in ComposerPro, and there was a Flash app that implemented EQ for the older amplifiers, back in the OS2 days.

    Sorry.

    Ryan,

So a newer amp would be needed to control EQ with app not just the EA5 or Core5?  Currently, my audio is running off my EA5 outputs, 1 output to each amp....

  11. Is there any way to adjust EQ or even basic treble/bass settings on the C4 app (Android version) for C4 amps controlling different zones?  I have 16 zones running off 2 of the C4 16amp3B 8 zone amps.  It's somewhat cumbersome to always have to adjust EQ in Composer and I could swear there used to be some EQ controls in the app previously....

Are you refreshing the project after making changes?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, I've even rebooted controller, turned zone off and back in, changed the settings while zone is on and while it is off.  I changed the lowest band to 100hz as it was odd all other 7 zones were 100hz and this affected zone had 80 hz as lowest even though I had reset to defaults.  I'm going to check it again tonight to see where the numbers are

  13. Anyone have any recommendations here?  Still having this issue with the EQ essentially changing itself to the shelved bass setting at 100hz to 11 which is causing clipping of my kitchen ceiling speakers.  I can reset it to default, save, works for awhile then comes back with the incorrect setting that is causing the clipping.  I've copied settings from other rooms, works for a little while, then back to issues.  I've combed through MONITORING and PROGRAMMING looking for anything else the would cause this zone only to change it's own settings.....

I hear you. I just give unique names for my lights just to stop it from being forgotten by Alexa, the other side of the equation is Amazon Alexa itself, the system sometime does some weird shit, with or without C4 it has its issues!

I ended up changing the name of the light in MyControl4 and added a voice control command (which I didn't even end up programming). Oddly enough after that it started working so I changed the light name back in MyControl4 and now it seems to be working ... Strange ...

Also, of note is that I was updated to latest firmware this weekend but that didn't fix it, it wasn't until I did the name changing that it changed.

I don’t understand why u r blaming C4 for, group the lights if u want to reduce the clutter, also use Alexa voice scene for complex stuff, am sure you can figure it out, don’t let a dealer do it or the labor costs will hit you hard, that’s easily 40 hrs work, not less than $400-$500, it requires extensive work, take it room-by-room and you will be there.

Also on the controller thing, am not sure it’s a controller limitation!

I have already reduced the clutter but this is a Control4 light that is no longer being recognized by Alexa.  Not blaming C4 just figure for the price that the integration would be better.  Also, there shouldn't be lags.  There are multiple complaints on the forum (also look at Control4 Alexa skill rating for C4....1 1/2 stars out of 5) so I'm not the only one with issues of the 2 playing nicely.

One light not working by voice isn't the end of the world but is frustrating when I've done everything I can think of ro remedy it

U don’t need to control 300 device by voice, this is just too much, limit this to most common and most used ones, I kept mine under 200 and happy never had an issue, just a global issue when Amazon sinks every once and a while!

I don't? There is AI that can write a Beatles song and Control4 and Alexa together can't manage 300 devices? I have over 100 lights, 4 garage doors, lighting scenes, LIFX lights, etc etc and I have playlists for my music by artist also broken down by room so I can play certain things in certain rooms.  Not all of these devices are Control4, Alexa automatically imports everything it sees as a device including the 12 Alexa devices I have in my home.  Each room is a device.  That number adds up very quickly in a large system.  My theater lighting alone has 4 sets of ceiling lights and then the RGB sconces and RGB setups lighting add another 20 lights.

Maybe Control4 can charge some more for another updated controller to manage these devices with Alexa better since they phase things out.

I also have over 300 C4 devices on Alexa and other than not seeing every device in the Alexa App and seeing the annoying “More than 300 devices in Control4 project” all over the place, Alexa control is working perfectly.

I wish all owners could say that consistently.  There are times where Alexa says ok and nothing happens but now I cannot see this light listed anywhere in Alexa even after refreshing, checking, unchecking, unlinking, relinking, etc. Not sure why it can't simply list the devices vs. there over 300 devices via Control4 thing

May want to verify 4sight is active as it's required.

I've had 4sight for ten years.  Renews annually in December automatically.

Doesn't look Iook like Alexa and C4 cooperate as I have over 300 C4 devices on Alexa
