In this case, you aren't using C4's native audio services at all? You need one node per discrete audio stream (eg, if I want Spotify in one room, Pandora in another at the same time, I need two nodes)?
I use Sirius XM and sometimes IHeart via C4 app as well as my entire music library (My Music) via C4
In my RACK I have my EA5 and HC800 (to be replaced in near future) providing 4 streams to my 2 8 zone C4 amps.
I only need 1 stream at a time in Theater though

go digital coax from the control4 controller to the anthem. it will use Anthem's DAC. or just bypass C4 altogether with something like a bluesound Node (my latest toy and it's worth it).
That's what I seem to remember at my previous house with my RA5 at that time sending audio to the Anthem. Now it will be EA3

PC
I did find PC- UI Button. It says Laptop PC Generic (uibutton.pc.c4z). Would that work or is there a better option? Basically, I just need a source for WATCH to work

That's the driver that you use for custom Alexa voice scenes (ie anything that doesn't discover automatically, more advanced options) - so you create a voice scene that is 'beam me up scotty' then alexa can discover it and trigger it and you program what you want that scene to do.
I see I have this driver already in my RACK but is there any benefit to installing multiple instances? I just posted a problem with Alexa no longer recognizing a few lights so wondering if I should add this to force Alexa to see these lights again?
Is there any benefit to adding this Alexa driver manually into a project in a certain room?
-
I'm having issues with Alexa no longer triggering 2 of my bathroom KD120 lights. When I say, "Alexa, turn on shower light" she says ok and nothing happens. Furthermore I can't see them listed in Alexa devices anymore (thought says over 300 C4 devices listed with scenes and such). In MyControl4 I have these lights selected, nothing has changed, and I've asked Alexa to discover devices several times. This is a new development in past few days so not sure why these lights have seemingly disappeared from Alexa.

I just noticed in ADD DEVICES there is an Alexa driver (voice-scene.c4z). What function does this have if added to project?
-
What driver under ADD DEVICE is used by C4 to add a generic desktop computer as a video source? Basically I'm just running an HDMI cable into my Sony TV in office to extend my desktop display but would like to allow C4 to power TV on when I select the PC as WATCH source.

With an Anthem Reciever, why are you even relying on the C4 Controller's DAC?
I'm not sure how I would have Anthem receiver access my music library other than using C4 interface... Any suggestions? I do like C4 I yerface with my large music library but also want best audio quality as most of my library is FLAC

Sirius XM is not mqa... So...
Mqa? I only have Sirius XM as I have account for in car use and can stream using C4. Of course quality not not FLAC files and such

So after using my Luma cameras for awhile I'm now having issues with the Android Luma app closing upon opening. Nothing has changed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled at least 10 times. Works for a few hours then garbage.
Impossible to get assistance from Luma or SnapAV or whatever they call themselves these days. The app has low ratings on Play store and now I see why. Hard to believe high prices security camera company doesn't see their Google Play garbage ratings and fix their issues
Ready to throw system out and get something else with some customer service.

I only use Sirius XM for a streaming service and no other platforms for music as I already around 5000 CDs in my own music library so have no real use for a home streaming service at least for music.
My main concern was EA series quality for lossless file quality vs. Core series. Right now everything in theater such as my Anthem receiver/Sony projector/Sunfire amp all work via Ethernet control with Control4. The only real function I'll be adding to the theater with a controller is audio via C4 and possible control of the projector screen for raising lowering.
-
I'm adding a controller into my theater finally after it's completion. I am likely using an extra EA3 I have on hand which will stream audio to my Anthem receiver in my theater (also control drop down screen, etc). Sony projector and Anthem receiver already controlled on network by Control4. My dealer had recommended possibly a Core1. My question is:
1) what's difference in performance between EA3 and Core1 for just single room control of the theater and streaming audio.
2) I am wondering which the better option would be for best audio resolution the digital out or HDMI? Is there a difference or can I just use the HDMI out to Anthem for both audio and onscreen display? I want to make sure I'm getting the maximum 192 audio resolution of course

Still having this C4 amp issue.... Makes no sense.... I've reset EQ settings back to default (flat) and it works for the time the amp is on but seems like the next time the amp is turned on back to altered settings causing clipping. I've done both basic and advanced setting changes and apply. I've even applied settings from another zone and it still continues to revert to these "bad" settings causing the clipping.

I think what you think is a long press is actually it sending up up up or down down down etc a bunch of times to get things to move. What I do is have the Nvidia shield app on my phone and the rare times I need it open that app and do the long press. This way you still don't need the shield remote.
There is an Nvidia Shield app? I had no idea! I'll check it out

I'm having a sudden issue on my KITCHEN zone via my C4 amp. I've had some clipping due to some changes I did on the low end frequencies so I keep changing it back to a different setting without so much gain on the advanced EQ settings (decreasing the SHELVING setting) but it keeps going back to a setting of 11. When I change it to 5 for example it works just fine without the clipping but the next time the zone is on, it reverts to a setting of 11 as shown in my attachment for the 100 hz bass shelving setting..... no sure how this keeps changing itself back. Also, I do hit the apply settings to the zone as well. I've even exited Composer and went back in later to find it changed itself back to the higher number again....

What's odd is that I can scroll through titles on the NVIDIA Shield on Netflix or Kodi by holding the up or down arrows as a continuous command (UP/DOWN) but C4 can't do a long press for ENTER with C4 Shield Driver.....
-

No because there is no press and hold in programming. It would fire enter command 10 times.
I was hoping maybe with the possible lag between C4 and the Shield that repeating the command line would be seen as one command being held....
-
Was just thinking if long press/hold isn't available with Control4 driver for Shield, would it be possible to program a button (ie blue button on remote) to repeat the ENTER command say 10 lines of same command in a row to replicate a long press?

Can anyone provide the head to head spec of the EA5 vs. the Core 5 if using as primary controller? That is what I'm primarily looking for to determine if an upgrade would be worth it (replace my EA5 with Core 5 and move the EA5 to my theater as it's own controller in that room)....

Works great, i've got full control from HA.
I assume I would need dealer to install this?

Any updates regarding a Balboa Bullfrog spa Control4 driver?

Got the digital converter running. Just curious will using this running out of a digital output still give the best audio resolution (using EA5 digital output) vs say using the HC800 standard RCA outs?
Based on the specs I'm seeing, the newer controllers have built in better audio resolution right off the bat (EA5 is 192 khz 24 bit vs HC800 which is only 44 khz 16 bit) but wondering if using digital converter will in any way degrade the best digital sound resolution.
Also, to get the full 192 khz do you need to use the digital out vs RCAs? I can only use RCAs into my C4 8 zone amps of course.
What is the difference between sound resolution out of the digital out vs RCAs on any controller?
A lot of questions hopefully this all makes sense hahah

Couple of simple D/A Converters, about $20 each, you'd have 6 audio outputs available (not including the HDMI).
I just noticed an issue that wouldn't allow the digital audio converters to be used with the Control4 amps. Because the output is digital audio, there doesn't appear to be any way to force the Control4 amp to accept the input as it only uses RCA inputs so at least as far as I can, you cannot make the amp accept a converted digital audio signal from a controller.
Or would it be possible to feed the digital signal into the converter box (not sure what this would be in the Control4 library) as the destination and then use the converter box as the actual source for the amp?
Any ideas on this?

the core5 is a pretty good bump in performance over the EA line across the board from what we have seen. As you add more functions to a controller the lower the overall system performance will be. My personal system my ea5 is just there for running the project. The core3 is OSD audio, zigbee, and IO control now and I saw a slight bump in performance removing the more taxing services like OSD off of my ea5.
If you want the most flexibility with audio you will want an appropriate size matrix. assuming you dont have any other audio needs you could do a 16x16 to facilitate the c4 amps you have now. but if you have more avrs or other audio zones on top of that you may need a larger one. you could also send digital or analog audio to the avrs and the rest to the matrix as the core 5 as 5 audio outputs easily connected to those types of devices. I would suggest straying from hdmi audio output from any controller as audio sync across multiple zones becomes a bit more difficult.
I was a bit curious about performance wise if the Core 5 takes over for the EA5 as the primary house controller. I don't really use on screen navigator at all as I just use my phone and open C4 that way as it's far less cumbersome.
Alexa driver listed in drivers

It was working just fine up until the last week. Nothing has changed. In MyControl4, the light is listed and checked as part of Voice Control. The light is named Master Bathroom Mark as it always has been. Alexa says OK when I say "Alexa turn on Master Bathroom Mark" and nothing happens.
I've unlinked and relinked C4 with Alexa and that didn't change anything.
I've tried discovery through Alexa and that does do anything.....
