Great suggestion. Just added an old Rpi that I had laying around on to our matrix.  Loaded the Dakboard OS, added in our calendars and a few photos and voila.  My wife thinks it’s fantastic.

I have a pi coming Monday.  I am looking forward to this.  Thinking I may end up with two.  One for my office and another one for the Family.  I will probably set it to auto turn on in the morning and off at the end of the day in my office and have it turn on in the bedroom and kids room every morning.

  2. Wondering if anyone has a DAKBoard in their project.

I was looking to buy one and found they are back ordered.  I noticed I could get a Raspberry Pi and run the DAKBoard from that and add it to the video matrix and have it available on all TV's in the house.  Anyone doing this?  Is it worth the time?  is there something better out there?

  3. Do you have to buy the locks from C4?  Is the zigbee module specific to C4?  I picked up a set of zigbee locks from ADI and I can only get them to lock and unlock..

I was able to get the lock to where it shows online but all I can do is lock and unlock it.  I cannot set the auto lock or add users.  I picked up the lock from ADI and not through control4.

I am using the "Yale Real Living" driver and not the "Yale Smart Locks" driver.  In order to get the lock online, I had to manually add the device address in identification screen.

I am able to see the status as "Bound,Online" for the device in system design but when I look at zigbee it says offline.

  4. I am having a similar problem.  I was able to get the lock to where it shows online but all I can do is lock and unlock it.  I cannot set the auto lock or add users.  I picked up the lock from ADI and not through control4.

Here is my question and I am afraid of the answer.  Do I have to purchase the lock from Control4?  Is the zigbee module control4 specific or should the zigbee module that came with the lock from ADI work?

  5. Just my general thoughts.

I put all of my clients on a 10.0.10.0/24.  If they have a VERY large home, I may go with a /23 and have a DHCP range with 254 addresses.

1 is the gateway.  2-9 are switches 10-19 are AP's.  20-29 are storage appliances. 30-59 are other devices like C4, Apple TV's, TV's etc...  60-79 are for cameras.

I am big on static IP's.  I really don't like to do reservations for gear that should not change.  I also try and set things up using either Google or Cisco for DNS.

All of that said, I am a Ubiquiti reseller.  I use a USG Pro 4 or UDM Pro for the router.  I never use the USG.  For switches I use the Pro 48 POE or Pro 24 Poe.  I always put a separate switch in the AV rack and connect it to the 48 Port via a 10 gig SFP using fiber.  I also connect back to the router from the 48 with 10 gb fiber.  Over kill?  Maybe, but the 75 bucks that costs is worth not having  bottlenecks or over subscription that can occur.

I have a contract with hostifi for the clients that have the USG Pro's.  I don't use the cloud key unless a client specifically asks for it.

I have been using the AC-Pro Ap's but am starting to look at the U6 Lite's and the Nano HD's as the AC-Pro's get older.  I also use a lot in in wall AP's.  They are great fro homes that have no land line but where cat5/6 was used for telephone jacks and not daisy chained.

I know Ubiquiti is on the NO NO list but I have not had any issues. (Knock on Wood)

After upgrading to 3.2.1 this has resolved the issue.

I am having the same issue and I am on 3.2.1.  the remote is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting.  I am on the latest appleTV driver using homekit.  The devices have a static IP.  The apple remote on my phone is the only way I can control them.  I have a 4k connected to an onkyo.  a 4k HDR connected to an onkyo and two 4g apple TV's connected to a video matrix.  I have bounced C4 and the apple TV's over and over.  All of the apple TV's are in separate rooms in homekit.

One additional bit of info:  I am running a /24 vlan, UDM Pro connected to an XG-16 SFP Switch via 10g fiber with three 48 port switches off the xg-16 via 10g fiber.  Also have some other switches with 1 gb fiber as well as ap's off one of the 48 port switches.  i am running DPI and IDS from the UDM Pro.  I realize Ubiquiti is on the naughty list with C4 but I have lots of clients with this setup that have ZERO issues

This has been going on for a while.  It's frustrating.  I about ready to rip the damn bridge driver out and move it to the new IR driver

    Thoughts appreciated.

  7. Client is on 2.10.6

Already has an older model Apple TV using the IP driver.

Wants to add a new 4k AppleTV in addition to the older one.  Added the current driver and Bridge but the bridge has a message that the driver is not supported in the current version.  The documentation says its works with 2.10.6.  Is the problem the older AppleTV?  Do I have to get rid of it?  It will not be a problem to ditch the old one but why take it out if it's not necessary?

I noticed the kind posting of a new IT driver and was thinking I would give that a whirl but wanted to ask if anyone had any thoughts.

    Thanks in advance
